DJ accepting his somewhat altered role will be the key to our success this year. if he continues to chuck up threes in key situations, we're in trouble.
This is true, however some folks have been castigated for stating as much
CONCERNS:
DJ - Certainly a lot of the game what we expect - unfortunately including a couple of the too quick 3 toss-ups for misses........
I'm hardly concerned about DJ. The short time we had Cooper, Tayor and Offut on the court together in the first half was a revelation. The rest of what he does so far outweighs a couple of bad shots in a game.
I'm not Overly concerned, especially during a win. Not sure what his 3 shoot % was today - but I don't think it was better than his career 30%. 30%/3's is not a game changer (50%+/2's is). A few Bigs w/O rebounds and put backs off of 'em would be nice (but that usually not gonna happen as they aren't down & able to position yet)
IT has been a game changer, is a game changer and will continue to be a game changer. By cutting off your actual shooters and not making the extra pass the entire team dynamic and locker room agenda are invariably changed. Shooters stop looking for shots or worse, start taking bad ones instead of moving the ball one more pass. THe death knell for any TEAM is when the guy running the show becomes the show. IN that vein Stevie Taylor was sensational in his debut running the show for a few moments. Pure speed and a couple of frosh mistakes but for the most part laughed and played and chided and accepted the role and made guys look good.
