Hey, giacomo has it right. TB was a real egomaniac. Not only did he fire Larry in a very unprofessional manner, according to a source close to the situation he drove Grobe away several years prior to when Grobe would otherwise have left. Supposedly, Grobe got into a big fight with TB in his office, slammed the door and went to his own office and dusted off his resume and made the football world know that he was available. This jibes with some things his wife told me about his plans at about that time. Also, don't let TB tell you he hired Solich . . . that hire occurred above his pay grade -- in the president's office. Interesting, the same thing happened when Grobe was hired. Mack was on his way out, and Glidden did the hiring. The only good thing I can see that came out of the TB Era was the building of some stadiums for some of the non-revenue sports. Oh yes, and the desire and plans to get some BCS home games in football.
