What an ugly ending. How do you foul someone throwing up a three from about 35' out.

I would love to see a replay of that. Did anybody get a good look at it?  My video was pretty blurry.

Don't quite understand the throw in to Baltic with 16 seconds left, but I refuse to complain. OHIO just beat a team that is 41-2 in its last 43 home games. Don't remember an OHIO team in the last 20 years that had this depth. Would love to know if Belton is going to be available later this year. Could have used him to pound Petros down low.

Up by 8 with a minute to go -- miss 2 FT's, then a TO and the bad foul on Baltic fouling on a 3 pointer.  We gave them 9 points at the line tonight by fouling 3 times on 3's.  No excuse for it to go down to the last possession when you're up 8 with a minute left.

The Oakland announcers were decent - giving us a lot of credit and not showing any bias at all throughout the game play by play.

I listened to their announcers for about the first five minutes but couldn't take it anymore and switched to Russ. Luckily the sync was pretty close.   I do have to give their guys credit however in the postgame.  They talked about what Ohio did to Oakland instead of just focusing on their own team.   They hit the points I would have made which I thought was impressive.

If we can keep this team intact through next year I think top 20. That's a big if based on the last few years.

Petros was someone we couldn't contain -- big body. 23 pts and 16 boards. A freshman too.

Two good road wins over Marshall and Oakland and a  game we were up 6 with under 3 to play at Louisville and lost.  Looking at those three road games and that is prettty impressive.  Not many MAC teams are gonna be 2-1 in those three away game. Not to many SEC teams or Big East teams would be 3-0 vs those three.  With Lamar which is looking like a better win now with Marshall and Oakland that is perhaps 3-1 vs the rpi top 100.  Would be very good to get 2 of three from Portland, UNI, and Wright State to give us a 4-2 road record. A clean sweep in Athens non-conference and that would be a successful non-conference record heading to MAC play.

Stevie Taylor with about as efficient of a 13 minutes as you could get. Thirteen points in 13 minutes, Five-of-seven from the floor.

First time in the three or four games I've seen that the team looked loose, like they were having some fun.  Oakland is a good team but they may have still been relishing the Tenn win a bit in the first half; the 16-0 run in the 1st half was a combo of super hustle by the Cats and some lackadaisical play by Oakland.  Their coach probably laid the wood to them at halftime and it showed in the first 4 minutes of the second half.  Good to see the Cats take Oakland's best and not give in.  Portland won't be easy -- short prep and a long trip.  Hope the Cats can keep it going.

Tidbits:
The Good
*Love/hate relationship with DJ continues.  Hot start.  A bit out of control in the middle stretches.  Then started to really drive and distribute late (hit 3 out of 4 ft too I think down the stretch).  Really liked the DJ I saw late in the game getting the ball to the open guy.
*Was this TJ Hall's best game?  It was up there.  Loved to see him be a little more physical, rebound a bit and take the ball to the hole.  Nice to see him add these areas tonight and  to his nice outside shooting touch.  Good job TJ!
*Also nice to see Ricardo continue to take baby steps forwards and be rewarded more with PT during crucial times.
*Stevie Taylor is the next DJ I believe with fans.  Makes you crazy happy with bombs that go in and wild plays, then a few head scratchers.  He's going to be something fun to watch the next 4 years.  Imagine this guy on the playground when he's free to run and hot.  Fun player!
*Goard looked much more confident tonight and I still believe we're going to see a slow growth into a very solid OHIO player down the road.  Nice to see him take and hit a few shots as well.  Huge confidence boost I'm sure.

The Not So Good:
*3 of the last 4 games with late game meltdowns.  Fortunate we still pull out 2 of those 3.
*Baltic versus larger, non-MAC team, struggles continue.
*Yes Offutt plays within the system and very in control.  Still would like to see him assert himself as he's very quiet.  I still don't see him wanting the ball in crucial situations, but I still feel like he could be that magic Bassett type player during big games.  Missed the Morgan State game and I understand he was a lot of that then.  Just too quiet for my liking.
*Feel Oakland should've pounded the ball inside on us even more than they did.  Feel fortunate we haven't been exposed more than we have inside.
*Their announcers were bush league.  Example, at the 2.5 minute mark, "These next 90 secounds are huge and will determine the outcome of the game as not much happens the last minute."  What?

Summary:
Lets keep this going.  We have a chanee to make this a very special season of OHIO Hoops.  One game at a time and we may wake up one morning and see that Attack Cat logo in the Top 25.  Great Win!

72% on defensive rebounds and won the TO battle, 20% to 26.6%. You can give up 50%+ shooting when you do that and still win.

16 turnovers, but 11 steals.  Don't know what the norm or goal is, but that ratio has benefits - they were 21 to 5.

16 turnovers seems like a lot, but it was a faster-paced game. The 20% turnover rate is right in line with our 19.5% for the season. Put that with the fact we're turning opponents over 26% of the time. Those are extra possessions we're taking from our opponents.
