Looks like we finally have a team with a killer instinct.  There was a small run by WSU in the middle of the 2nd half, but we stepped back on their throats to extend the win back to 28

Due to watching..stress..the bowl game, I only saw the game at halftime--from about 4 minutes into the first half until about 12 minutes into the first half.

I really liked our commitment to defense.  Guys seemed to play D for every second with good team awareness as the players on offense moved from spot to spot.  We worked together and didn't let their guys get the ball where they wanted it.

Play like that and it becomes clear and clearer that we can play with anyone.

God, it was awful.  Makes me even more thankful of the announcers we have.  Even our backup team is ten times better than these guys.

That behind the back dribble and kick out by D.J was sick.  The crowd didn't look too great, but how was the OU attendance down there?

Same here--only watched 1st half until football watching took full control.  I also noticed that our defense looked great tonight.  They got few, if any, easy looks the entire 1st half.

Well, then.

A  Bobcat team not playing to the level of its opponent on the road?

A killer instinct?

Maybe they've got something here.

Overall crowd tonight at the nutt house very small....bobcat fans at least 25%.....not a lively game at all.. I have been to family reunions more animated than this game...

Then again..most people were in the Frickers "above the rim" bar watching the bowl game and cheering louder up there than in the seats.

A bus o Jan s Fans and as much OU gear through out the stands as WSU gear.

Guy behind me was prettling on and complaining about calls. I looked at him and he had some smart aleck comment....

I was about to say "My sister got her degree from here....I remember coming to some d2 championships series....did you guys ever make it to D1?" .....but I refrained.....I did say good by when he left.

Got to alk to a redhsirt and his dad then spent 15 minutes with Julius Mays who is recovering from a concussion about the state of the program.....it is gonna be a long season.

Walter Offut on Twitter: "It's amazing what can be accomplish(ed) when no one cares who gets the credit"

What an addition to the program.

That play was a beautiful thing to witness!

Someone else said 25% OHIO fans - sounds about right to me. And someone the other day used the term "feeling smug" when discussing how it felt to be the "Big Program" opponent in your house playing a smaller program. Was feeling mighty smug as a visitor in the Nutter Center tonight! Blowing away the home team on the hardwood, and lot's of distraction the home team crowd could not help but notice with all the whooping and cheering with the FBall Bowl game win! Great day to be a Bobcat!

Well...as a WSU student who will be receiving my 3rd (and final) degree from there this year....I only had to wait 12 years to finally get to see OU play a game in my back yard. This really needs to be a yearly contest.

I showed up in my OU gear with my dad (an OU alum '70) in his OU gear as well.  It's always fun walking up to a WSU game wearing my OU t-shirt and then handing them my WSU student ID. I get a lot of "what the heck?".

I told my dad going in that OU SHOULD win this game by 20 but WSU plays good defense and is usually tough at home, not to mention the Nutter Center is notoriously a bad shooting place for visiting teams (plus all the dead spots on the removable court....my ex g/f played for the WSU women's team and I'd go out and practice with her on the court often...man what a crappy court lol but anyway). I told him if we shot bad it could be close but if we shot well WSU wouldn't have a chance.

We shot 61% from the field. Not to mention, WSU (an already VERY young team) was without their leading scorer tonight. Billy Donlon in his weekly radio show mentioned how they were going to struggle against UC and OU this week but it would be a good test to prepare his young team. That was pretty much the ballgame right there. WSU is in good hands with Coach Donlon but it's gonna be a long year for them this year.

It was REALLY obvious that we were the bigger/stronger/more athletic/better team out there tonight. Once we got out and ran a bit and the shots started falling, it wasn't much of a contest from there. I was more impressed with our defense than anything. It was my first game I've gotten to see in person this year.  We looked as good as our record IMO.

I might argue that it was more than 25% OU fans. Maybe more like 1/3. Definitely more visiting fans than usual save for Cincinnati or Butler.  The atmosphere was d-e-a-d but that's what you get when a) you're in an arena that holds 11k with only 4k in the house b) the students are all out on winter break c) the home team isn't all that good this year.

I think the biggest cheers of the night were when OU scored the game winning TD at the Bowl Game and the frisbee dogs at half-time (those dogs were awesome). It was neat that WSU put the football game on the tv's around the arena for us to follow. I think more OU fans were watching the football game than the basketball game once it got out of hand for most of the 2nd half.

It was a really fun night. Can't wait to get down to Athens for the Miami game.

I don't know how I managed to watch the bowl, the stream of this game, and not screw up my job today, but somehow I managed.  I'm practically floating with a bowl win and a hoop team that looks like it could be the best we've seen in a long while.  HUGE barameter game coming up Wednesday night.

Details... Blech.  That means I'm at work again.  This is why I live and die by iCal -- anything much beyond 24 hours I'll never remember accurately.

I noticed that today too.  The last 3 games were all 54... I'll be pumped if we can push that to 4.

Here's one for y'all: Cooper scored 20 points on 9 shots! And, he led the team in rebounds while he was at it.

Castricone has a good radio voice. He's easier on the ears than Russ, although Russ certainly does a decent job.

Yes he did.

Looked  like that consummate point guard any NBA scout would take note of, kept tyhe ball on a string, absorbed the doubles out top, threaded the needle and took very good shots off great ball rotations. Made his team look very very good.

How the hell did Miami lose to these guys?

Ohio 54 - 82
Miami 51 - 49
CMU 60 - 42

One of these things is not like the other...one of these things just doesn't belong...
