Well, the last couple minutes we had a number of opportunities to get it even closer and failed on our shots.

6-11 should be able to finish around the rim v. 5-11, no?

Gets fouled but misses both free throws. I consider that a turnover.
I still can't believe that Gabe Wiz got a scholarship to Louisville.
Our rotation should be:
Miles, Hunter, dw3, Rod and James starting
AJ, Clayton and Baker off bench
Sheldon and Wiz AS NEEDED BUT NOT RELIED UPON
AND PUT IN ADELODUN!!!

After the T, I believe it was a 25-10 run to close half. Well done.

Tired of losing to top three teams on the road in league by 10+ points.

And there hasn’t been enough talk about this. Clayton has been god awful. I wouldn’t even play him. So passive on both ends.
100% agree with this^. Clayton has been the most disappointing part about this team this year. He has become dormant on offense and takes bad shots early in the shot clock.
Clayton is just too determined to be a 3 point specialist at all costs.
Seriously asking...who would you rather see on the floor right now: AJ Clayton or Mason McMurray. My pick is McMurray. Dude sold out every play.

Starting to get gassed. Lack of hustle and discipline on that possession. Three chances on one possession are unacceptable.

Freeman is athletic. Dwight is not.

I guess that could be said for the whole team. They’re just more athletic than us.

And then there’s AJ with his quick shot

With MAC teams going smaller and smaller, Clayton is often seeing a 6-4/6-5 type of player guarding him. Isn't that a mismatch he and Ohio can take advantage of? I think both of his field goals so far today are due to him crashing the boards for follow ups with his height advantage.

DW3 is still First Team. Freeman is POY that is the difference. And btw..Boals' technical gave Kron the momentum and backfired but I still believe he is a good coach. I just refuse to say "great" until he wins a MAC Tourney without JP and BVP.

He's already won both a MAC tourney AND an NCAA game. Saying he has to do it without JP and BVP is a little disingenuous. Please name me any Ohio coach who accomplished these feats without "insert best players here".

Does Hunter not get credit because he didn't do it without Trent?
Groce without Cooper?

We had two big time chances to really get back in the game and AJ. Missed both threes. Both were pretty much wide-open. Bottom line you’ve got to be able to make the open three to play this game now.

Dagger through the heart. We just didn’t hit open threes when we needed them.

I swear this kid got recruited bc of a 15 min workout without defenders. Slow. Can't rebound. No hands. The most unskilled player on the floor.

He does hit 3 pointers in warm-ups though. That has to be the explanation.

It's flabbergasting he cannot rebound. It's like an allergy. He has 0 rebounds. Myles Brown has 2.

Unless it's Groundhog Day...

AJ just missed another wide open 3 from the corner.

OU has to foul and hope for a lot of missed FT, and the bigger hurdle... they have to make shots.

So he hits the one that doesn’t really matter at the end of the game. We needed the other two.

Just shut down so beautiful rotation.

Well they made it look better than what I thought it was gonna be. Definitely can’t dig a 20 ft hole again and only bring a 15 ft ladder.

I did not care for Saul but Boals won with his 2 recruits. Groce recruited DJ. Larry recruited Trent. Your comparison is flawed.

So if a coach didn't recruit them, they have no impact and get no credit for any of those teams successes? Got it. That's a fun world you live in.

I think so far it’s safe to say Jeff has more misses then hits with his recruits. This year he really better get some bigger and better players. We really lack affective wing players.

I think we're moving in the right direction but we still struggle on the road and Akron with Castaneda and Freeman is the legit #2 team in the conference.

Zips by 5.
Just gonna put this here.

And I stick by us finishing conference 11-7.

Clayton 25 minutes
James 16 minutes

Make it make sense.

Pin this one on Boals and his constant rotations. If he’s not gonna play James, then you’re better off having Roderick out there trying to make a three that matters in the last five minutes.

This is spot on. Elmore James clearly is better than Clayton yet 9 mins less????

We just watched a game where a 6'7" PF had a career game, yet we're questioning why someone 6'8" is playing over someone 6'3"

We can't run a rotation 6 people my height and DW3.

I think he is spreading playing time around to keep everyone happy. Bottom line is, I think, a bunch will be looking for greener pastures. So, get down to the 7-8 you want to keep and let the others go if they don’t get better or are unhappy. It is the new reality.

And MDWST this is on Boals recruiting. How can you have a bunch of 6’3” guys and no 6’6”to 6’,7” wing players?
