The team that won strong at UNI and Oakland is.  Don't think that Louisville is bad just because they lost at home to ND.  Any given day, anyone can win or lose, right?

Absolutely, which is why we can take down a Georgetown.  This is also why I love college basketball so much.

Again, I never said Louisville was bad.  I've said they were nowhere near the #7 ranking when we almost beat them, or #4 when they peaked.

We look at our record to determine how good we are.  So you have to look at your opponent's record as well to try to figure out where we stand, using a combination of what the two tell you.  So when I look at your so-called "quality wins", I see:

Oakland, who is 9-10.  How good are they?  They lost 6 in a row, to the likes of powerhouses North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Western Michigan, Oral Roberts, and Western Illinois.  I'm not sure I'd tout that as a quality win.

Northern Iowa.  This win is still somewhat impressive, as we dominated the entire game.  However, they went on to lose their next 2 games to teams that aren't overly impressive.  I'm still moderately impressed with this performance though.

I think OUr team is still good, but not great.  I think this squad would be the 3rd or 4th best OU team since 2000, despite the record.  I do not think we're close to top 25, and I also think that is ok.  Think of how good you have to be to be top 25.  There are over 300 teams in D1 ball.  If we're top 50, which I think we can be, that is still pretty damn good.

In truth, I never thought we were that close to being one of the 25 best teams. It was fun to see if we could get ranked, though.

Well, a few of us saw it a week ago . . . Where's perimeter and cc cat now, telling everyone how awesome we still are?

I'm right here and still say the same thing (FYI - please tell me where I said we were "awesome" - or anything close to those words).  What I have said is we are a good team that can be dangerous every time we get on the court.  Stumble hurts our at large bid attempt, just as last night's loss hurts OSU's #1 seed chance  and perception of being a final four team.  But a loss does does not define us just as last night's loss does not define OSU.
