I called an ordered 11 tickets for the january 21 Miami home game and was told that the athletics department was expecting a sellout. I personally think we are going to see crowds that we experienced in the 90's when weekend crowds exceeded 11,000-12,000 on a regular basis

The 90's were a different time for the MAC. Some very good teams and very good players came through not just once a year, but usually on a weekly basis.

I just called and bought 6.  He told me the same thing.  I've never experienced a sold out Convo.  Looking forward to it.

Thanks but I figured it out shortly after I asked.  I have one ticket now in the lower bowl section.  being a recent grad, though, I may mosey on over to the student section...mainly to be in the action.  and also from what I've heard, step up if no one leads to be loud.  Though for those of you who know me, no I won't paint (driving back the same day)

I'm of the belief alumni should stay out of the O Zone unless it's Sibs' Weekend and you have a sib there.

Disagree.  Enjoy the splendor of old folks...really old folks...acting stupid.

Someday you'll want to be that person.

For what reason? I sat in the OZone for a game last year and had a great time.

I'm with Dragon on this.  Buy a seat across from the Ozone and the band and enjoy what you see.  It's a much better view and the sound is oh so superior.  I saw Roger Daltrey at the Peabody in St. Louis a couple of months ago from the fifth row.  Great show but nothing is worse than watching a bunch of 55 to 65 year old white guys dancing badly to Baba O"Riley.

Well yea, but alumni in their mid-20's could pass for students anyway.

I'm pushing 40, and I wouldn't personally partake, but until our students consistently show up in full force to fill those four bleacher sections and the four behind it, I think it's open season for anyone who stands and makes some noise.

this is kinda like the "how old is too old to wear a jersey" discussion. I say keep the Ozone for the students but feel to start an OldZone in another section if you feel inclined to relive your glory days.

Never would have thought. You have more to say on here than most 50 to 60 year olds on this site (McKinney included).

On that topic, I started reading this site back in 2005 when I was a freshman...  In high school! Someone finally said something my Junior year that I just had to respond to.  Almost 5 years later and I'm a Senior at Ohio...
Boy how time flies.

That might be kind of cool.  I was looking at a seating chart for some school (Northwestern maybe?) and they had a "Young Alumni" section.  I don't know how well the concept would work here, since it seems most of our recent grads move away from the area, but it might be nice to create an "Old Zone" section above the OZone for grads who still want to stand up and go crazier than the rest of the arena.

I think this would be a lot of fun.  Could start chants back and forth across the arena.  :)

Is this OFFICIALLY a sellout?  I was just curious and went to the ticket office online link, and the only one that didn't work was the Miami game.

Tickets don't go on sale (on the website, at least) until January 3rd.

Interesting.  I didn't know that.  I appreciate the heads up because I was recommending to a number of non-season ticket holding friends to buy tix for this game.

Bobcat Club members can buy tics now - just call the ticket office. You can't get the cheap seats up high yet I don't think - but you can get better seats down low - I bought 3 tics for some friends in the lower section just couple days ago @ $20 tic.

I know this has been on another thread somewhere, but for those that might come from through/around Columbus, there's a bus leaving from the Dublin Area that day.  I verified last night through a friend in the know that there are at least 20 seats still left on that bus.  Something to consider if your plan is to come back northwest later that day.
