I can't make an attendance prediction yet, because I have to see Alan's hand first.

The official capacity is still 13080.  That hasn't changed.  If it's a sellout that's what it'll be, not one person more.  The crowd for the 14,000+ BG game of yore will never be repeated because of fire regulations.

Score prediction:

Good Guys 65
Bad Boys  49

It is possible we may have to revise our attendance figures downward if the freezing rain prediction for Central Ohio materializes.  Hopefully it will not be an impediment to driving.

If the standard central ohio "wintry mix that is really just a glorfied rain that means nothing" central Ohio weather forecast keeps fans away from the game, we don't want them anyway.

Darn weather.  We are cursed.  Cursed I tell you.

The loud, die hards will be there.  But, I want to see 12K+ in the Convo.

Got my tix and plan on being there with my wife.  HOWEVER, I am coming from Cincy in the morning and the weather sounds dicey.  May put a damper on the attendance.  I hope for 13080 (and to be one/two of them) but more realistically, 10,804 in the seats with possible travel problems for many out of towners!

Ohio Cat Fan I may be wrong, but I think the 13,000+ sellout figure you mentioned was set years ago before some of the floor bleachers were used for the media. I can't say for sure but I seem to recall being at games in the past that were announced as sellouts but whose attendance figure was less than 13,000. I know for a fact that the 1986 NIT game against the Buckeyes was a sellout (I can remember the scalpars outside the Convo) and I think the announced attendance was less than the official stat. Again, I could be wrong but I think the Convo configuration has changed somewhat since it opened some 40+ years ago.

As for the weather, it will be the worst right at sunrise on Saturday and should become a little better in the late morning which could mean a late arriving crowd. I certainly hope the Will Call window is well staffed. A big win on Saturday along with the enthusiasm of the crowd should propel some more media attention. The Columbus TV media has stepped up their coverage of the Bobcats. NBC4's Matt Barnes is an alum and always seems to mention the scores and even shows highlights. Channel 10 seems to have stepped it up as well.

Now if we could only get The Fan in Columbus to talk about the Bobcats. However, like a lot of Sports Talk Radio, too many of the on air personalities play into the dumb jock stereotype. They wonder why would anyone would want to pay attention to any school in the MAC. Topping their arrogance is Colin Cowherd who tries to pretend that he is the Sports Talk Radio Intellectual. He recently parroted his eltist views wondering why anyone watched the December bowl games or lives in the Midwest for that matter. However, that topic is for another day. Sorry for rambling!

=>YES!!!  Wear that shirt.  I hope Trent's presence brings the same karma as he did to the Convo in his playing days!

BTW, the "Shaq of the MAC" was 0-3 in the Convo against the Miami Redskins and got swept by Miami his final season at Ohio U.  ;-)

Bless your heart.

But where's your score prediction? And are you bringing Devin Davis with you to help reinvent the karma? You're going to need all the help you can get, you know.

=>My prediction:

Miami:  45
Ohio:  73

This has "perfect storm" written all over it.  With a victory over Miami Saturday, John Groce will finally no longer have a .500 or worse record in MAC regular season games.   19-18 here you come...the dream will be realized!

Except, of course, you are wrong.  1/16/93....was played in Oxford.

In Trent's 3 seasons at Ohio, Miami won in Athens on 2/14/93 (59-54), 1/8/94 (79-66), and 2/4/95 (80-69).

Oops, CBB reference had it the other way around.  I guess Gary will have to live with his 3-1 record against Miami outside the Convo including his undefeated record in the MAC Tournament (Championship game I might add).

=>Yeah, you can live with that!

I was wrong about JG being 18-18 in the MAC and being able to get over .500 with a win vs. Miami this weekend.  JG is actually 25-27 so he will still have a losing record in regular season MAC games.

But hey, can't know that 6-2 MAC tourney record.

OU - 75
MU - 62

Attendance:  Anything over 12,000 will make me happy.  The largest crowd I was present for was either Kent State in 2001 or Miami the same year.  Both were great crowds.  I want this one to be better.

Ohio 100  Miami 75.  Bobcats will force 30 Miami turnovers behind that crowd that will be electric.  Bobcats depth will run Miami off the court.  Attendance will be 13,000.  Johnson with a tunderous slam dunk in the #20 jersey that the Shaq of MAC would approve of.
