The top four road teams are:

It would be great to get an MVC school in Athens for Bracketbuster weekend.  They should start selling $1 top 10 row tickets now like they are for the "Gary Trent game."  OU fans in the seats helps the kids a lot.

Due to the fact we have a football program, I am just now looking of NI's Game tonight. As many of you said, this is going to be a tough to pull off. These guys have some quality wins already (Iowa, Iowa State and Providence).

Well.....we will see where we really stand.

Maybe Jay Bilas could break down Northern Iowa for us?

Here are all the road teams in the Bracket Buster who have an RPI under 100.  Of these 12 we will have already played 3 so I think we can elminate them.   A lot can change between now and the end of January when the pairings are annouced but the 9 remaining would be our most likely opponents.  St. Mary's and Long Beach State aren't likely because they are on the West coast.  Since we stand to have a TV matchup they can't be outright eliminated however.  Same goes for Fairfield, College of Charleston and UNC-Asheville.  But our most likely opponents come from Indiana State, Wichita State, Valpo, and Drake.  I can live with any of those.

Northern Iowa 2
Indiana State 19
Long Beach State 27
St. Mary's 45
Lamar 48
Wichita State 49
Fairfield 67
College of Charleston 69
Valparaiso 82
Drake 88
Oakland University 89
UNC Asheville 90

I would love to see College of Charleston in here. Ever since they took down UNC (in Charleston! How did they even get that game) it seems as though they are on TV much more than your average mid-major.

One advantage they have is they're in a decent sized city.  They also have the name Bobby Cremins, and a damn nice arena down town.  I would love to see C of C because my sis and brother in law are grads from there.   Either them, or Wichita State.

That's the way I feel about Wichita State or Drake.

The lone thing I miss about TOS was all the games we had on the east coast.

Of course, we're assuming a lot here...that Ohio will keep playing like it is now and staying high in the RPI.  Hope that they do and confident that it can happen.

Next task:  play well at UNI tonight.

Kent got St. Mary's in 2008, so it's very possible to find us hosting the Gaels. I would like Wichita or Indiana State if St. Mary's doesn't happen.

I was just looking ahead to the announcement date/time of the Bracketbuster game, and found this article from a Creighton fan page.  They project us playing Nevada in one of the TV games, of which there are 13.

That's the second site I've seen projecting Nevada to take on OU in the Bracketbuster.

Personally, I think this would be a great scenario for OU. Nevada is a talented team with a solid record and rpi very similar to ours.

While we don't really have much of an at large case, it would go down as a nice win and the game would probably go on either espn2 or espnu which would be a good chance to showcase the Convo given that a Blackout is scheduled.

Nevada would be a great draw. While perhaps not as good (this year) as a St. Mary's or Wichita State, I think their name would do more to excite students and fans.

With a win over Ball State, I'd be very surprised if we don't get ESPN2. Would be amazing to get a truly "national" TV game (i.e. not ESPNU) in the Convo!

Perhaps 'kron gets the Beach aka Snoop Dogg State and that game would be a matchup of Lebron U vs Snoop Dogg U. Two guys that made millions and didn't spend a day in college.

Really? Do you really think our fanbase would be fired up over Nevada?  UNLV maybe.

Nevada is a name that students who don't religiously follow basketball know because of their FBS status. UNLV also is a name brand that would draw a lot, plus the fact that they're ranked nationally also helps.  Either way, it would be a good draw for fans.

I don't think the fanbase as a whole would be "fired up" by any of the teams in the Bracket Buster event. They are in there because they aren't real well known to casual fans. But those who follow basketball closely know Nevada was dominant in the WAC for a five-year period and has since been pretty good. They've produced several NBA players in the last few years: Luke Babbitt, JaVale McGee, Nick Fazekas, Armon Johnson, Ramon Sessions and Kirk Snyder.

Maybe you're right but I'd rather play an MVC team and hope it turns into a regular home-and-home thing.

I agree with that. I'd like Ohio to start playing more MVC teams.

+1 on that thought.  MVC games are venues we can more easily travel to for that return game.  Nevada...not as easily.
