ESPN Analytics doesn't know that Tod Kowalczyk is Jeffrey's daddy.

Let's just hope their whole team doesn't turn into prime Steph Curry again this game.

This game means a little more than I thought it would at this point... hard to guess how these games go, but either way it's gonna get a little tight around here and I think we're gonna see some flip flop of some tournament seeding.

TODAY:
4) OU 9-6
5) Toledo 8-6
6) BG 7-8

Remaining Schedules:

BG 7-8:
Directional Michigan x2
UMASS.

They could easily get to 10-8

Toledo 8-6:
NIU
OU
Miami
Buffalo

Toledo 10 win basement. Likely to 11 wins and be the 4th seed.

OU 9-6:
Toledo
UMASS
Miami

If OU can get to 11 wins, we could lock in 4. That's assuming quite a bit. 10 wins we lose all tiebreakers, if BG takes care of some bad teams.

I think we might be looking at Kent State in Cleveland as a 6 seed.

If I was a betting man, I'd guess that 10-8 is probably were we'll end up. That'll probably not make the Top 4, unless there's a multiple team tie, and you know the MAC and tiebreakers! ;-)

We cant get a top 3 seed. Which means we're locked into the 4/5 matchup in Cleveland. Do I care which seed? I do not.

What matters is winning that first round game.

Ill trade a loss in Athens for a win in Cleveland 6 days a week and twice on Sunday.

Anywhere from 3-8 is still possible.

Most likely scenario is a repeat of last year - Toledo in the 4/5 game. They clipped us in overtime last year. Boals really needs a win over Toledo Saturday.

We might get a huge gift from Western Michigan if they can hold on. Up 9 @ BG with under 4 to go.

If OU can get one W, they lock 5 vs Toledo. If they lose all 3, BG wins the last 2 they would jump us into 5.

No idea who'd I rather play in this scenario, but I'd LOVE to ruin Miami's perfect run. What a delight it would be to be the asterisk.

With that said, I'm so sick of losing to Toledo, but damn if we don't always lose to Toledo. Kent State is a far superior team, but Tod K has Boals number. I think I'd rather play Toledo and have Simmons go bonkers in the tournament. Use Jeff's sad record and Simmons exit as a huge motivator against Toledo, but they will have the same motivation vs Simmons so who knows.

Either way, Round 2 vs Akron or Miami isn't very appetizing.

After last night's results, I think the eight seed is off the table.

It is. 3-7 is still theoretically possible, but neither 3 nor 7 is realistic. Overwhelming odds are we're in the 4/5.

I'd much rather play Toledo in Cleveland than Kant (Kant is a better team and plays good D). Toledo we get owned by, but just because we can't stop them. If by some stroke of luck they have an off night, we can score on them and get the upset.

So as long as we avoid the 6 seed - all I'm saying is I value the win over Toledo in Cleveland way more than a random Saturday MAC game in Athens. So I won't be in the sky is falling/fire Boals/Boals can't beat Toledo camp if we happen to lose this one.

If UMass beats Bowling Green (currently up 9 at halftime), I believe we are mathematically locked into a 4/5 game with Toledo. Crazy that this could be determined with still 3 games to play.

Best case scenario: 12-6, tie with Kent for 3rd, lose tiebreaker = 4 seed
Worst case scenario: 9-9, tie with Buffalo for 5th, win tiebreaker = 5 seed

Edit: I guess if Buffalo wins out and Toledo loses out, we’d get Buffalo in the 4/5 game. But the Bulls are down 16 at home to CMU and their best player keeps getting injured, so that ain’t happening.

No way. We are vicariously unbeaten. We pull for fiami now.

They used to be our big rival. Now we love them.

As long as fiami and Akron both keep winning, that = Bobcats winning.

After 21 years of posting here, I refuse to post along side people who are overjoyed to wave the white flag and jump on the bandwagon of pulling for our biggest rival in a desperate search for some moral victory. I'm deleting my account here. Good luck to you and the other new fiami fans.

I'm done with you people.

Great effort to get the lead down from 20 to just 2 points.
But lost the momentum after that.

Why does Kuany only get 3 minutes?

Unless we win the tourney, a quarterfinal win over Toledo won’t change my mind about Boals. He has completely checked out and it’s time to go.

Correct. Since BG didn’t lose to UMass, they could now tie us at 9-9. Would require us to lose our last two and BG to beat Eastern. In this case we would lose the tiebreaker and play Kent in the 3/6 game.
