With two teams getting a triple bye and two others a double bye, tickets to the tourney other than through the respective schools could be a bit of a challenge this year.

Agreed and her response goes to my point - selling tickets this year is going to be a challenge with this crazy bye set-up.

Just out of curiosity, where are these small group discounted tickets located?

Sounds like a solid deal.  I would suggest that Ted lock this up top since we will have to wait a few more weeks to really see when we are playing.  Any +1's out there?

I buy tickets for the entire tournament.  My brother-in-law and I have been going for seven years now and we even enjoy the games OU isn't playing.  Very good basketball plus it's nice to see other teams we hadn't seen yet that season.  I got my hotel room reserved (Candlewood Suites North Olmsted, very good deal and only 15 mins from the Q), vacation time off, and the wife and I and my sister and brother-in-law have our plans made already.  WE ARE READY TO REPEAT 2010!!  GO CATS!!!

P.S. Call the hotel and they may get you like $250 for four nights with a pre-pay!!  That's what they are doing for us.  Plus free parking, kitchen in the room (extended stay hotel), and next to Wal-Mart and Great Northern Mall and many good restaurants like Chili's and Longhorn I do believe.

I see the advantage for the fans here, but I wonder how this affects the schools.  I have always purchased any away tickets through our ticket office so they get the revenue.  It almost seems like those that plan ahead are rewarded with better seats, but at the expense of their school's ticket office revenue.

I'll miss the MAC Tournament this year, but I hope to watch all the exciting action from the comfortable chairs inside the Caesar's Palace sports book.  Cleveland would be the best place to watch the tournament, but Vegas is really close runner up.

Close second? No way! It'll be, like, 50-60 degrees colder in Cleveland plus soul-tearing wind! And you won't see the sun once! What can come in a close second to that?

Well, since I will be indoors, watching the Bobcats take another MAC Championship live and  in-person, is second to none.   Vegas will always be there.

I'm done betting on the Cats to win this year.  They win the games, but never cover.  I have, however, been successful by riding the unders.  I expect that to continue because they play such good defense, but have struggled to shoot the ball.

I'll be happy to watch them win the tourney and I'll get back in time to go wherever they end up in the Big Dance.

In looking at some of the tournament packages, I wasn't sure about the seating for the single-digit sections (I think floor seats). There were sections listed from around 1-16 or something like that and that is not labeled on the seating chart. Anyone able to explain where each of those are?

The single digit sections are floor seating.  Sections 24-27 are behind the team benches and sections 7-10 are across from the benches.  Sections 1 and 33 are located along the baseline on the north side and sections 16 and 18 are along the south side baselines.  They are available in our all-tournament packages (all 4 days), which start at $150/seat.

I notice you didn't answer the question about how this affects funding for the schools.

Do the schools get any portion of the money for the tickets you're selling?

Every MAC school receives tickets to the MAC tournament to sell.  The revenue from the schools and The Q go to the MAC Tournament.

What a great deal!!  About $20 a game to watch fantastic basketball.  You can't beat it.  Try getting that close to the action at the Big Ten for that price.  You can't!!  Watching MAC basketball at it's finest.  I tell all my buddies they need to get their butts up there and find out what they are missing.

And there is seating (behind the baskets) for $53 for the entire tournament. All packages include admission to all the women's games also. Altogether that's 14 games for average of $3.79 per game.
