To get this back on topic, and now that the ordering deadline has passed, does anyone know when these will ship?  I assume since they are custom ordered names and numbers we are going to have quite a wait on our hands.

I've been trading emails with one of the fine folks in the marketing department about the black jerseys, and asked about this very subject. Response I received this morning was that they are aiming to get the jerseys in time for the 'Blackout' game on Feb. 18, but they've yet to get confirmation from Russell that they will be produced/shipped by then.

More info to come in regards to mailing/pick-up of jerseys.

Still haven't heard anything.

I'm guessing that if you're like me and are having your jersey shipped outside of Athens (to Cleveland, in my case), you're probably out of luck to get it in time for the "Blackout" game on Saturday. If you're in Athens, hopefully you have a better chance.

I would love to walk in the Convo tonight and hear they are in.  My boys keep asking when they will have them.

Forget the 'Blackout' on Saturday. Getting your jerseys in time for the MAC tournament is looking iffy. Just received this email:

Ohio fans,

Russell Athletics has informed us that the Black Basketball jerseys and shorts will arrive sometime the week of March 5th through 9th.  Once we arrive on a specific date, we will inform you on how we will deliver the jerseys to you via pick-up or mail.  Thanks for your patience and go Bobcats!

Perfect timing for the Blackout game on Feb 18th. My 8 year old is disgusted by this and just declared, "Great! What are we supposed to do with those stinking jerseys now? We won't even to get wear them to one game."

Why would Russell need 5 weeks to make 100 jerseys? I'll bet the entire uniforms they provided the football team with for free took less time. This is really disappointing for those of us that ordered them on the premise that they would be delivered before the game this Saturday.

Yeah I am disappointed too.  In addition to not making the timeline clear in the first place it was also a rookie move to not use BCC in the email.  In our world of crazy privacy concerns its suprising they would allow everyone to see exactly who ordered the jerseys.

Yikes, I didn't even notice that they didn't use BCC to send that out. That's incredibly bad form.

I don't understand all the fuss over these jerseys. Has the team worn them yet? It reminds me of the time we came out wearing black Nikes after halftime one game in 1982( I think) The fans went crazy, just like the recent football game. But it's a one trick pony.

I once got ripped pretty badly on the phone for making the mistake of not using BCC in an e-mail like this.  But, I was just an intern at the time without a clue...Can't imagine how bad an Assistant AD is going to hear it...  "Once we arrive on a specific date, we will inform you on how we will deliver the jerseys to you via pick-up or mail."  --Hope this doesn't mean delivery is going to be an added charge, because that wasn't mentioned before.

This is not the first time they have failed to BCC in sending an e-mail to me.  It is getting annoying.

1. Ordering jerseys through an online ticket ordering system that is not geared for apparel sales
2. Offering jerseys without any product shots of what it looks like
3. Having a deadline of Feb. 1 to order, then weeks of no updates on delivery
4. Learning that the orders may not come in until the END of basketball season
5. Including the email address of every person on the email notice

Is this really the best that Ohio can do?

I will say yes when they are dealing with Russell Athletics.  What happened with the Addias contract?  They didn't even give some people enough time to order one.

It's been more than a month after the ordering deadline with no real information on delivery. Now with the season nearing a close and no good opportunity to wear it until next year I'm kinda starting to wish I could get a refund...

That is really too bad. I missed the deadline as ordering was such a pain in the arse that even my internet savvy sons and staff could not get it to go through. Guess it was not meant to be.....I feel for those who ordered in anticipation of being able to wear them on that eve but would stilllike to be able to order one or two. I have several folks here in Indiana that wanted to order them if they are still available to purchase. Perhaps I will amble back over there and see if there is still a link to order......

I sent an email a little while ago asking for an update on the delivery. If I hear back, I'll let you guys know. I was hoping these would be delivered in time to wear to the tournament this weekend, but I'm not optimistic.

Mine arrived today. I'll echo everything you said here. They really are gorgeous. I've been wanting a nice Ohio basketball jersey for more than a decade, and this is better than anything I could have ever hoped for.
