Good article JSF.  Although, I think the Keely free throws made it 64-61 right?

"On this night, Keely made both ends of a one-and one to push the lead out to 64-63 with 6.2 seconds remaining."

The ohio.com article is probably correct in pegging DJ at 5'9".  See the vid after the Buffalo game: the woman interviewing DJ is clearly taller than he is.  I get it; we don't know her height.  DJ has pretty long arms and he played quite well--deserved MVP--in the tourney.  I'll catch flack for the height statement.  But if he's 6 feet or over, he's not at Ohio; he's at a 'bigtime' school.

Van stated the one point that is so true and which hardly anyone has commented on.  From near the four minute mark we absolutely had four guys standing around while, mostly, DJ dribbled.  We abandoned our offense and guys who weren't DJ looked nervous about having the ball.

The guys standing around were mostly near the baseline while DJ was near midcourt.  Why we didn't keep running our offense?.  Doesn't mean that we shouldn't have run clock; we just didn't make 'kron defend five guys.  We didn't  look to score, to create opportunities even as we ran the clock down--until there were mere seconds on the clock.

Elton is an idiot.  Have you EVER seen a championship game article in which the lead is the clear tourney and game MVP getting ripped?  DJ made a few bad plays (not good passes, mostly).  Every player does.  Buyt he has the ball so very much for us.  The article should have started and centered around that incredible looong3-pointer DJ made late as the clock hit toward zero--the semi-shotput.  How many guys make that shot?  How many have ever made such a shot?

Elton will pick both the football 'Cats with their better-than-ever squad and these hoop 'Cats who lose no one for 2nd from the bottom in the MACEast next season.  He's clearly in over his head.  Does he just watches the game on TV and writes his articles in five minutes with no editing or revisions?

For the record, it was Leah Petrovich in heels.

For those who do not make OHIO volleyball, Leah is one of our esteemed volleyballers. Smart, pretty AND tall.

Elton would've known that had he stayed for Ohio's presser.

That statement says all you need to know.  Not that he would have learned that DJ missed intentionally, just that a man who covers the MAC didn't deem it necessary to stay for it.  [sarcasm]That man is a pro....[/sarcasm]

Nick on the All-Tournament team surprised me. I had Reggie in his place.

That is a big surprise.  I guess one of the problems with the new format is several players don't get enough games in to make a mark.  Randal Holt might have been a good choice as well.

In fairness to Elton (yuck), many writers leave after the first team's press conference. Deadlines and such. Evan, who wrote our recap, did the same. I stayed and sent him Ohio's quotes.

For sure. A few deserving players this year didn't make it. Cvetinovic would've gotten votes if he had even a decent game Saturday, too. You could make a case for Juice Brown, Austin McBroom, etc.

True story:

Leaving Cleveland after the game late Saturday night, we were driving through Akron on I-77 in one of the middle lanes when an SUV came up fast on my left, passed and cut in the lane just in front of me. My immediate reaction (after tapping on the break to take the car out of cruise and slow down) was to say "What a jerk!" Then I noticed the license plate said UAZIPS. I kid you not. The SUV then swerved right again and cut acoss another lane of traffic (and another car) to exit the highway... I said jokingly to my SO, "There goes Keith Dambrot."

Now I know it was Elton.

She is 6"1'. I know her boyfriend, he mentioned this while watching that particular interview.

That is a really pointless and silly article. Looking at his tweets he seems a bit oafish. Can t find a bio save for his twitter claiming he has won 3 national awards.

Lord knows his 40 year career can't stand up to your excellent work with, ahem, your little project.  Clean up the typos and grammatical errors as a start.

That's great but this particular article is pretty poor. It starts one place and then wanders to another with no real point and then just ends.  I'm sure he's earned every accolade that has been given to him.  This article will win no awards.

Not to mention that in such a short piece, he managed to bungle two very basic, easy-to-check facts.  The regular season isn't 18 games, and hasn't been for quite some time, and the Convo doesn't seat 14,000.

I want the last five minutes of my life back.  Positive drivel.

Do they edit there?  At all?

Because newspapers are a real model in business that we should all strive to emulate. /sarcasm

Additionally, let me say that I love all of the score updates that @LivyPD puts out through his Twitter feed, he certainly understands exactly how to use the medium. /more sarcasm

Another nice gem.

"Only one other mid-major conference, the Missouri Valley, holds its tournament at a neutral site. "Arch Madness," they call the games played in St. Louis in the shadow of the Gateway Arch."

Now, I get that "mid-major" means different things to different people, but really, MVC is a mid-major but none of the following are?

A10
CAA
Big West
MAAC
MEAC
OVC
SoCon
Southland
SWAC
Sun Belt
Summit League
WAC
WCC.

Does he just make stuff up and not bother to look into it?
