We have the 255th ranked schedule. I have to seriously question the sanity of anyone who thought we could get an at-large bid with the schedule we play. Murray State, who has an equally pathetic schedule is almost running the table and is at #58 RPI. If they get a few more losses and don't win their conference tourney, they could be out looking in.

You seem much more confident now that you have all the information - in December you were less so...

Strength of schedule means quite a lot and we don't have a strong schedule this year. It may be stronger than anybody thought as it all unfolds, but will it be enough to get an at-large? I don't think so.

Why weren't you questioning sanity back then?

It's nice to be quoted. I was sugar coating the medicine. I hated this schedule and thought it was a shame we didn't test ourselves more, despite the recent slide against inferior teams.

Ohio moved up eights spots in the NCAA's official RPI this week to 90th with a couple of wins at home.

Two wins this week probably would move the Bobcats up to around 70th. A split probably would put Ohio between 85-90 (depending on winning at home or on the road). Two losses and the Bobcats are back between 100-105.

Please see original post for updated numbers.

MAC's 4-8 Bracketbuster record very disappointing.  This was a chance to move up a couple of spots.  I'm surprised that the league didn't fall that much in the ratings.

Far enough into the season now that things have largely stabilized.

Yes, but going 4-8 in one day has an effect even this late in the season.  Hopefully, the league will do well in the post season and might edge up a spot or two.

Plus it isn't the OOC schedule that is our undoing. If we had Akron's record in conference we would almost assuredly be sitting on an at large berth.  Toledo and Eastern hurt us a hell of a lot more than anything else.  If our only loss in conference was Akron we would be in great shape.

Akron at 58 and Ohio at 73. Didn't really hurt Akron but they missed on a big chance to get an RPI bump.

Please see original post for update as of 02-29-12.  Realtime RPI figures not given since they have not properly updated Ohio's record.

this link had us move from 60 to 48 after the win. Anyone know if this is accurate? Seems like a big jump but I like it.

it is accurate. Combine our win with several other big games by our opponents yesterday and you get a big jump.

Interesting that strength of schedule is now in the 160s.  That puts us slightly above the median.  It does not support the idea that Ohio's SOS is the weakest ever.
