This puts us at 11:1 which is realistic. Kent and Toledo should have about the same odds. I think that the only real reason to favor Kent is if you believe Toledo choking is a real thing and not a statistical anomaly. Toledo gets the winner of OUr game (if they beat Miami) and that is a pretty big advantage over Akron. I'm a little surprised Pomeroy gives an edge to Kent here.

I agree Toledo will have an easier path to finals, and are hottest team right now. But the reason I, personally, still favor Kent is simple. Defense.

3rd game in 3 days produces tired legs and sluggish offenses. Defense travels even when your jumper doesn't. It's why defense (and rebounding) wins so much come tournament time (and a big reason Groce has so much March success).

Kent has the best team defense and best individual defender in the league.

I do wonder if this game is playing for a consolation CBI like tourney invite, the winner getting an invite and the loser's season being over. Although Ball St has already hit 20 wins, maybe they get one regardless.

Anderson Mirambeuax just played the first 6:42 of the second half of the first quarterfinal game. Just saying.

I think that Ball State will get an invite even if they lose. What these tournaments do is unpredictable though. The NIT didn't claim to be based only on merit until 10 or 15 years ago. They lesser tournaments, as far as I know, still don't. But bids are also turned down fairly often. Sometimes they have to dip pretty far down the would be order.

FWIW, we are a 1 point favorite again. Vegas is confident that the line should be almost exactly zero but not a all confident who, if anyone, should be the tiny favorite.

Yup....you have to go with DW3 as long as you can. Shorten the bench. I said it earlier in this thread. This is March not November.

Ball St is too good a team. They will make a run this half.

Also we won't shoot as well as we did the first half.

I won't be shocked when this thing is back to single digits.

Now the X factor is if we keep defending like we did in the first half. If we do that and keep this thing 20+ for the first 10 minutes then we're golden.

Nevermind. AJ Brown may never miss again.

Edit to say - really impressed with DeVon Baker's midrange game today in addition to Elmore James.

If we're going to get 20 from AJB, and 12 each from Baker and EJ4, we're going to be a handful.
