Now THAT was a bad loss.

We let a team ranked in the 300s shoot 58% from the field and over 50% from 3.

Inexcusable.

I don't care if you can't dribble. Guys who give a crap on defense would be the ONLY guys getting PT. Message sending time.

The reason we don’t have a talent is the coaching staff has poor recruiting skills. It often seems like their focus, energy, and discipline are worse than their talent or lack thereof.

At this point in his tenure, Boals should have the program at a much higher level. Fortunately, for Jeff, our AD is more focused on nonsense and he’s not even the leader of the worst basketball team on campus.

So buckle up, and prepare for a continued snootful of garbage play.

You cannot dismiss Sears & BVP leaving for Much greater opportunities - based on their abilities and Proven as such. Do you think Boals recruiting last couple years planned on that before known?

If you can't get above average transfers anymore, go after some international players.

St. Mary's is a tiny school and has been bringing in the overseas guys forever. (Australia in particular) This season's Tennessee team...ranked #2 in the nation, has a guy from Uruguay via Australia, one from Helsinki Finland, a 7-1 guy from Serbia... they will scour the globe to find a player.

Now "thanks" to NIL and others rules having been thrown to the wind and the new wild west nature of D-1 NCAA sports... you have to fight fire with fire.**

**Who expected Florida Atlantic to be 21-1 today? With a recent sweep over WKU...yes, there is still a chance for a mid-major to make some noise. Thus teams #19 FAU are now ahead of in the rankings? Indiana, Auburn, UConn, Illinois...

I get what you are saying but Groce replenishes every year. Ali Ali left. Sendy replenishes. NIL has nothing to do with Sin Carry staying at kent. I was just pointing out Boals missed in the portal this year and lost guys while other teams in the MAC have continued success.

I get what you are saying but Groce replenishes every year. Ali Ali left. Sendy replenishes. NIL has nothing to do with Sin Carry staying at kent. I was just pointing out Boals missed in the portal this year and lost guys while other teams in the MAC have continued success.
You missed the Level of players we lost part - therefore Much higher level needed to replace. Sure the new players not at high level - but Boals had to replace a Very High level - Much more so than 'Kron or Can't....

Low point is tonight. Bad loss. I think EMU is on the way up and would've beaten most teams in the MAC tonight.

We've got Miami and then 3 non-easy games (@NIU, Akron, Buffalo). I feel like those 3 games will determine which way our season swings. I still think we can rip off a winning streak into March. But I definitely won't be surprised if we continue to sputter.

I think unfortunately "sputter" is more than likely. We need a rivalry game to wake up and motivate this team. This fiami game is perfect timing for that. Yet, the season is pretty much not going to end well. This team has no identity.

I think everyone acknowledges that Sears and BVP leaving was a tough blow; but as others have points out — most schools lost a lot of talent. Still have to find a way to reload whether that’s next man up internally or the portal. A la, recruiting.

BVP should have been planned for, since there wasn’t a guarantee he’d use his COVID year. This came in the form of Clayton. Who for the life me, I don’t understand. 9 3PA’s to 3 2PA’s last night. Yea, I know he hit 3 and had 13 but man, I wish he’d pump fake and take a guy off the dribble. It’s like he thinks he’s Shumate. You’d think playing his way to a bench role would force him to make some tweaks but na.

Nothing on AJ Brown? Didn't listen to Russ during game or post. Do we have any definitive word on what the injury is and how long he will be out? It looks like he took part in the shoot-around the morning of the EMU game. Since there isn't a dedicated beat reporter who follows this team I guess we might not know anything until Fall 2023.

Clayton has been a mixed bag on offense, hit and miss games, and it has not been developing, essentially just shooting over the top. But it's his defensive skills and energy level that are most questionable. It seems the player shooting against him rarely misses.
