Kent sure isn't looking like a vote worthy team at NIU.

We gotta do something about attendance in Dekalb.

Sucks, was hoping to see Kent survive thru the week and see where they land but this was bound to happen sooner or later in the MAC.

Agreed. As good as Kent is, they weren't going 18-0. They were actually projected to go 17-1, with a lone loss at Akron. Personally I think 16-2 with one clunker mixed in. Didn't think it would be NIU but here we are.

16-2 would put them 26-5 going into MAC tourney. A conf champ at 29-5 heading to NCAA. They could be a first round upset away from winning 30 games still. I could see it.

I think they end up 14-4

Can we take credit for killing their program in 2010?

Youngstown on ESPN2 tonight.

Have gone 8-2 since dropping one vs OU.

I haven't paid much attention since that game, but they're Top 10 in the country in FG%, 3PT, and points scored.

Akron's Enrique Freeman and Xavier Castenada is the best inside-outside duo in the MAC. Just don't think Groce has enough other weapons to help them out. They're going to miss Ali Ali Ali.
Posted this in early November and believe we saw evidence of it last night. Freeman and Castenada combine for 55 of Zips' 81 points while Ali Ali Ali starts for a Butler team that knocked off #13 X.

What a difference a year makes. Akron handled Ohio last season on Friday night in the Convo with Freeman, Castenada and Ali against an Ohio team with BVP, Sears and Carter (but no DW or Hunter).

Of course Castaneda is much improved and consistently excellent compared to last season, but in addition to Ali Ali gone, the Zips also miss Dawson and Bandaogo. The #3-8 are improving but not up to the quality of what Zips lost from 2022.

Akron can be beaten every game if Freeman gets limited minutes due to foul trouble OR as shown last evening if the opponent has two bigs that can rotate in and out and make Freeman stay on the court for more than 25-28 minutes a game. Freeman simply has no substitute. He can go to his left but going to the right is money in the bank for him. I would slightly over play him forcing him left and I'd lay money that his field goal percentage would go down. It might be a gamble but sending him to the line instead of an easy basket may pay off like it did last night as well.

That's six straight losses for Bowling Green and I'm here for it.

I've been watching some of Travis Steele's postgame press conferences and you can tell that is an icy locker room in Millett Hall right now. I think he will be personally ushering some guys to the portal after the season.

Looks like OU is coming together at the right time, while the bottom half of the MAC is falling out.

Would still have to get through Kent State AND Toledo in back-to-back nights, should current standings hold.

From where we were two weeks into the conference schedule, I would be more than happy to get to the semifinals and take our chances.
