So much for the emotional post game with language about how "we're building something special in Athens." Apparently, he sees no obligation to help correct the potential APR problem that he helped create.
As the saying goes, "Money talks and BS walks". I too am a little bitter but how can you blame the guy. You can either make A. $500k and stay in Athens or B. $1.25 mil and coach for Illinois. Um, that's a no brainer. He isn't obligated to stay here, he is only obligated to do what is best for him and his family. And I believe we all can agree that option B. is the better option.
I wish he had stayed and I hope our program doesn't suffer much but in the end, he had to do what he felt was best.
