As of a few minutes ago, the estimated Mega Million cash payout is now $390 Million. I am in a pool with 18 others which would pay me $21M before taxes. Also buying a few tickets on my own. If you win, what will you cough up to our fine institution?

If my pool wins, I will immediately write a check for $1M for athletics and $1M for academics.

If I win solo, $20M to athletics and $10M to academics.

I will pay whatever is required to purchase The Pub and make it an exclusive Ohio Bobcat sanctuary. Buckeye fans will be welcomed, however they will be required to disrobe any OSU gear at the door.

What are your plans?

I've got a number of plans involving tropical islands, flying cars, secretively hiding the news from my friends and collegues, as well as large donations to OHIO athletics, the HTC, and probably the Biology department.

The Pearson East Stand that includes an upper deck at Peden Stadium would be nice.

My plans are to talk to my accountant before I do anything.

(This message has been brought to you by the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Want a card?)

$30 mil total:

$10 mil to athletics--the balance on the IPF (~$3 mil I think???), $5 mil as an endowed fund for recruiting, and the balance to general facilities improvements.

$10 mil to HTC, because they have no money and I want to get to pick the name of the college (it won't be named after me).

$10 mil play money.

Assuming I won all $390 million before taxes, I would

A) Contact a Lawyer to set up a proxy company to claim the prize so I'm not hounded by the media
B) Donate as much as I could to the Ohio Athletics department. Somewhere in the 50million range sounds good.
C) Donate a solid 10-15million to the Media Arts and Studies school. The RTV building could use a little upkeep.
D) Sit on the rest. Live comfortably, but not excessively. Be courteous with my money, donate to charities as I see fit, and eventually leave a pretty good chunk to any future children I may have, or to any kind of extended family.

oh I would also give my parents probably 10 million. They've worked their whole lives, they deserve it.

Nashville?  Don't forget to send about 5 million to Vandy to put a/c in Memorial Gym.  They can spend 25 mil for a new indoor football practice facility but can't put a/c in Memorial?

Fortunately for me, I don't find myself in Memorial Gym very often, but I guess I could donate a mil or two to Vandy.

That would buy one fine and dandy hanging scoreboard! Heck, use 1 Large to build the thing (w/vents and a blower). Invest the other 9 Large in a fund that becomes eternally able to at games blow out REAL CASH during the breaks (instead of those boring & worthless coupons that get dropped from the rafters). That would surely pump up the attendance figures!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who really wants a CPA from Cali anyway?  I'm local and therefore deem myself board CPA...and as your CPA, I advise you all to never play the lottery ever.

It's not playing if you know you're going to win.

Now, if Frank's friend Warren Buffet got interested in OHIO, these could be real numbers.  Not a big chance, but better odds than winning the lottery.

$ 101M. More than T Boone Pickens' gift to Oklahoma State.

With a few conditions...

-bring back men's swimming and track...
-McDavis must go on record and say verbatim "Title IX is a horrible piece of legislation that only serves to reduce the opportunities for male athletes. I further regret the decisions to cancel the men's track and swimming programs and seek to make it right by building an indoor track facility and renovated swimming pool..."
-McDavis and Schaus must start and lead an organization of other college presidents and AD's against Title IX and lobby for it's eventual repeal.
-Build a new Ohio University Golf Course on the same level as Ohio State's Scarlet Course
-Sign an agreement with either Nike, Under Armour, or Adidas for apparel and gamewear (it's important for recruiting)
-remove the first row seating in front of the ozone
-get the band out of the ozone and back behind one of the baskets
-Name a building on campus after Dr. Richard Vedder (if you had him for any econ courses, you know why...the dude is awesome)
-new scoreboard in convo
-all new video equipment to broadcast bobcat basketball games online in HD
-$10M fund for any university project I deem worthy with a board of students, professors, and administrators (could be research, scholarships, or sending the band wherever they want to go, etc)

I think that is good for now. Will update this as I think of more.

Bang-up list. I especially like the requirement to build/name a building after Dr. Vedder. I almost included "an Endowed Vedder Chair" on my list but figured it was too small $$ wise to warrent line-item mention. I know he's not popular with a lot of folks on this board, but Dr. Vedder was by far my favorite professor (and I was a Biology student)

He was my academic advisor and I owe a lot to the guy. He has positively affected the lives of 1000s of students at OU over the last 50 years. He definitely deserves at least an Endowed Chair.

Yeah... give some money to the athletic department... enough to pay for the coach of my choosing in both basketball and football... and then....

I am going Nevin Shapiro for our university... If you ever read Andy Staples on SI, this is where I got this from.

CASH FOR EVERYONE!!!!

Hey you stud QB/RB/WR/OL/DE/CB recruit... Ever been to Athens... it's a beautiful campus and here is your envelope. Cash only, no papertrail anywhere.

Basketball would be easy, head on the AAU circuit and PAY every bigtime AAU coach, hook them up with World Wide Wes and make Athens into the Las Vegas of Ohio.

2nd step is to pass a vote to build a casino in Athens. I will build the casino and fix all the payouts for Ohio athletes to win. Then Strip Clubs with an 'Athlete' Room (think champagne room) for Ohio athletes, and of course any member of this message board

Of course the NCAA will come to town... DENY EVERYTHING!!! NOTHING in writing whatsoever. Coaches will be left in the dark for their own good.

Ok... I might get caught after 10-20 years... but those would be some damn fine 10-20 years
