With apologies to the UMass thread, I thought it would be easier to dedicate a thread.

Here's what we know. Feel free to add:

Do we owe Robert Morris a game at their place?

I'm hoping JC and company already have that UMass game circled.  That would be a good W for the resume.

Asheville is 13-14 and I think Robert Morris was a 2-for-1.

I'm already on record stating that I believe it's important we get a game around Chicago for DJ.  My top choice is Northwestern.  DePaul would be a way behind second option.

I'd like a game around Kansas City for Ivo as well, but there are fewer options.  Mizzou, Kansas, or Kansas State would be nice, but I doubt any of them would want a piece of us.  Wichita State is probably out due to Schaus' connections.  Nebraska would be nice, I suppose, although it's not overly close.

Not that I'd be opposed, but D.J.'s already had two at Northern Illinois.

For obvious reasons, I'm 100% behind Ivo making a KC Homecoming.  I believe KU has a holiday tournament next year.  I'm sure UMKC would love to host us.

I appreciate the sentiment, but DeKalb is a pile of awful and a good 1 hour and 45 minutes from the city.

I encourage a trip to Chicago EVERY year: UIC, Loyola,(crappy opponents) Northwestern, and/or  DePaul (at the Sullivan Center...in Lincoln Park) would be awesome!

Get on this...NOW!

Maybe we can get ESPN to set up a home and home with Creighton.  I know Omaha isn't KC, but close enough and sets up a great mid major tv game.

Considering the ties to Chicago in the vocal and oft nicely represented alumni fanbase there I totally agree. If we have the desire to continue to recruit there this is a must. Beating those teams on their home floor is a good thing. Loyola is on the way up and we saw what Northwestern did to Akron...Depaul is a mere shell of their former past but they still get the RPI bump merely by the company they keep. I'd make that trip every year.

Yes, Portland will be in the Convo next season.

I thought we had a return game from UNI this coming season but someone posted on here that will be in 2013-2014.

St Louis could be a possibility and we would be able to get a 1 for 1 with them.  They lose their main scorer but have everyone else coming back other than a rotational player.  They should be really good again next year.  It's 4 hours from KC, but since we were there for the Sweet 16 this year, it might not be bad to try to get back into that area.

Making inroads in scheduling MVC teams for multiple games every year would be my dream. I just love the conference, the fans and the road trips are a major conference-like atmosphere.

I do like the MVC games, however, given the spotlight we've been in of late, I'm guessing most of those programs would see a matchup against us as a lose/lose scenario.  This is the same reason that, despite my hopes, I doubt we could land Northwestern.  Akron should have beat them, and they lose Shurna.  A home 'L' on their schedule to a MAC program my not be in their agenda.

borna, glad to hear your assessment that the Loyola Ramblers are making a comeback.  That's a storied program, and I'd love to see us start some 1-1s with them again.  We used to play them twice each season (home and away) because Sndyer and Ireland were such good friends.  It those days head coaches had a greater say in scheduling than they seem to today.  At that time, of course, playing Loyola (Chicago) was a marquee game.  Hope they make it back to their former status as a power program.

I will be disappointed if we are not included in one of the big preseason tourneys such as coaches v. cancer or preseason NIT...

I might be missing a huge point here, but what is the big deal about a KC or Chicago game?

I had heard we were looking for a Florida (Hall) and KC (Baltic) game for last season, and they never materialized.
