I know its in another thread but they did re-open the black jersey and shorts sale!

I noticed the banner says "13-Time MAC Tournament Champions." They might want to correct that.

Somebody must have been reading this because when I clicked on the link, the banner had "13-Time NCAA Tournament Participant"

I did notice that also, I went back to see as soon as I saw the comment on it.  Maybe those in charge are watching and reading!!!

That is some hilarious and funny s*** right there!! I never frequent any other message boards, but I cannot believe they are anywhere near as funny (and enlightened) as the people on this board!! I can't stop laughing....

I've always said Bobcat Attack personifies Ohio Alumni beautifully.

Top of what?

The salary scale: OK

Basketball success: Not quickly at Illinois. Ohio is in a better position.

Happiness: There's more of it in Athens.

Illinois is a stepping stone just like anywhere else. Just look at Bill Self.

We weren't when he got here.   Do you really think John Groce doesn't think he'll be able to win at Illinois?

The difference is that you don't step from Ohio to Kansas.

I think he'll be able to win at Illinois when given the chance. Remember, Groce started out with back-to-back ninth-place finishes in the MAC. You think Illinois would accept that?

Right now the Ohio basketball program is in a better position than Illinois.

Bingo! For most successful coaches they are very confident in thier own abilities. And they have to be to do well. Especially at a young age.

They don't think 'What if I fail' heck, they CAN'T think like that!

Groce knows he can easily quiet the people that don't support him at Illinois by doing what he knows he can do, win. Heck, he probably thinks "I can show them, I KNOW I will win there"

If by "accept" you mean would they be happy I'd say no. If by "accept" you mean they would be looking to fire him I'd say no.   As long as his teams show improvement like they did here then he'll be fine.  And don't forget that John Groce is a pretty good salesman. Once their fanbase gets to know him (if he's hired) they will embrace him just like we did.  And Illinois isn't this horrble job that so many of you are trying to make it out to be.  If the President situation was ironed out it would be a darn good job.

Different starting points though and also resources. Illinois has the ability to #1 Get the players that can turn the program around very quickly. #2 Illinois is not void of talent, they do have some good young players as long as he can keep them

Illinois was a team that beat Gonzaga, Ohio State and Michigan State this year. But just totally fell apart and once the coaching rumors kicked in the team went down the toilet. So Groce can think to himself that my style is what they need and I can turn them around quickly.

Has anyone seen the petition to keep Groce?  I signed it yesterday.  I am not sure who put it out but if anyone wants to see it I can post the link.

I don't disagree. But with six B1G teams in the dance this year (including four in the Sweet 16) and Northwestern on the bubble and improving, that's a very tough set of conference obstacles -- especially for a new coach.

Not saying he's not up to the challenge. Not saying he can't do it. I'm saying it is going to be tough to make an immediate impact and I'm not sure that Illinois fans will be patient -- especially with what's already gone down so far...

Here is the document I just mentioned. It is forwarded to the university athletic department. Please share it as much as possible. It takes seconds to fill out. I have already posted it on twitter and Facebook. Its not much but it can't hurt! Again I'm not sure who created it but it's great! Also there is a hashtag on Twitter #KeepGroce. Use it and trend it!

True.

Illinois fans expect very little out of Groce, and with the horrible state of  the program lately, he' d be on a very short leash. He would be better off to stay at Ohio, and establish a good thing there, then maybe look at some other offers, but he is simply not ready at this point in my opinion.

Simply, like I have said before, it is better for him to stay at Ohio. He's obviously loved there!
