Of course I'd like to see Dustin Ford to be retained...but also someone to help coach the bigs.  From his former staff Reggie Brown looks young enough to make the switch.

Doubtful if any of his current players would head north....but this guy may be a good one:

None of his current guys seem to have any ties to the state of Ohio or even the mid-west, but that's okay.

I'm guessing he brings one or two guys from TCU at least.

Armon Gates is also a possibility

Here's Christian's big man coach. Heard some rumors he might come with coach.

I could definitely see Gates as the top assistant. Hmmm...could it be beneficial to have a coach who was a guard, played hard nosed basketball, and just happens to hail from Chicago? I think so.

Can the guy coach? Does he have any experience that would suggest so? I know the guy could play but is he ready to be helping out on a Division 1 sideline yet?

I know he was only a grad assistant, but it would be nice to see Dante Jackson back.

Never mind, screw it. Let's get Gary Trent and convince Antonio Gates to quit the NFL.

Are grad assistants normally a two-year gig? He should still be a student next year.

Experience doesnt really worry me.  There are a lot of guys that go straight from playing in the NBA to coaching in the NBA either as a head coach or an assistant.

I can guess who it will not be.  Jamall Walker tweeted that he will be an Illinii!

Good call, Ted. Christian was an assistant while Henderson played at Miami.

But does anyone know JC's thoughts of sandwiches on the bus? Or sandwiches on the plane, since we are using those now? Or does next level mean no sandwiches?

Further, how will DJ Cooper react? If he's used to having a sandwich right away, then he could be a good fit with Henderson.

I'm not anti Gary Trent in this case, but can someone give me reasons why there's such a desire for Gary to be on OUr staff?  I know he's one of OUr best all time players, seems to be a good guy, and is a great story.  None of us know if he has any ability at all to coach though, do we?

I'm hoping, hoping, hoping that Dustin is retained as Assoc HC, and given a little bump in salary to keep him on the bench.  Something for continuity.  I also like Dante Jackson suggestion to stay as GA.

Graduate assistants usually don't change like the rest of a coaching staff. I don't know if Dante is done this quarter, though. Also don't know how well he makes sandwiches.

Christian said in the press conference he has assistants he would like to bring with him to Ohio, and he also said he would have to work with Groce to do what's best for both programs as far as the possibility of retaining coaches from the previous staff.

I'd say Dale Bandy...but you'd say I drank my way through college....which is true.

Ha.....good stuff giacomo.....I did speak out of turn on Dale....to be honest I was still in high school and never watched him coach a game....always defended the guy on here but was just taking the words of the  BA "experts" .....we were good friends of the Bandy's and my dad was on the school board when Dale's dad was superintendent.

Just saw this via twitter a little bit ago. I was really hoping he would be around next year. I'm not suggesting or assuming we will have any defectors with the coaching change, but I think having Dustin around would reduce the chances of that happening.

I also will vote for Dale Bandy. Might not want to go on the road after the young kids, but he can flat out coach the X and the O.s
