Hate me now BRING IT. No seriously this was just put out there by someone online associated with athletics. Dj would have to red-shirt but is this something he would do?? I like Stevie but is he ready for a whole season starting? Pretty sure the coaching choice affects this and or Groce offering DJ a spot.

The bond that they obviously have..no guarantee your style of play will float with the new coach. It's Illinois BIG 10...fame as a heralded transfer...extra year to get BETTER. #nba

I would expect that bond is broken.

I would be shocked to any of the seniors-to-be transfer

I would be more concerned with Walt using the "already graduated, don't have to sit" loophole...if that hole is still open.  I imagine Walt will probably be done in June, no?

No way is that bond broken...notwithstanding maybe the last few days confused some of the players..as far as we know Groce and DJ have been talking/texting min by min updates since the job offer. It's not unheard of for coaches to "poach" players when they leave. I think this is a possibility that people are ignoring. But as an Ohio fan I hope it's not true...Unless it's whats best for Dj and his family of course

He would still graduate..she didn't say he had to be out of school did she. And I think Mom knows how he will make his 1st Million the quickest way.

I may be the most hated man on this board but I will tell it like it's supposed to be told. This post tells me ENOUGH about Groce..anyone intelligent comment everyone else re-read the post.

Just don't understand why Groce left  and the guys,Wally O came just to play for him. Why not stay and build a program like Butler

Nope.  Nobody beats Ohio University's Sport Management Program.  Walt wants to coach.  He can join Groce at Illinois when he's done at Ohio.

If JG did that he'd instantly have zero respect from me. I do not think he's the kind of guy who would even consider such a diabolical move.

+1.  Also, would he keep these guys in the dark and then expect them to follow him?

So he took the job and will get paid, not the first guy to do it, won't be the last.

And if you are DJ, your name isn't going to be any hotter than it is right now. I could see him being more inclined to test the NBA waters now than take his name out of the mix for a year by transferring.

Is it something you would do?  No seriously....would you sit out a whole year from playing with teammates of a Sweet Sixteen team, delay graduation for at least a full year and a chance of some cash in Europe next summer so you could go to an Illinois team that just finished 9th in the big 10?
