Not sure what Palmerfest had to do with it.  Not too many folks sitting in the tower at that party in my opinion.  I haven't received my letter yet but from what I understand, if you bought tower seats and no longer want to sit there you can get your money back.  Bush league is an apt description.   Stayed tuned for more changes to the game day experience.

This is just another attempt to keep up in the arms race that is men's basketball and football. We want to play at a higher level, hence revenue must go up to pay for the increase in budgets and salaries. The newest school to jump ship is Old Dominion to Conference USA. Spending may go up for many schools looking to grab the brass ring, but there ain't that many brass rings.

California PA just fired their president, Angelo Armenti. He spearheaded the building of a new 6k arena and has been spending like a drunken sailor on athletics and other things that have nothing to do with acedemics. Our own Bill Brown in the head coach there. The arena is very nice and I went to the opening game. There were maybe 1000 for the opening game.

I just read an article in Bloomberg that featured a software company which has the ability to have a college professor, say at Stanford, beam his lectures over the internet, keep pace with assignments, tests and grades. Thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands may be able to take these courses and shift the attendence from campuses to the internet. Over time this could change everything, including athletics.

So does anyone have any idea why this decision was made (hint to the local news outlets)?

Now it's off the table. I received a letter today stating that they are not going to offer alcohol in the Tower Club or Rohr Room during the next year. It doesn't impact my support or attendance, but I don't agree with the decision. I'll wait to pass judgement until I hear the reason why they decided this. I really hope the Fest Season/party school image was not a deciding factor. At least I can still control my tailgate parties before football games. We won't have a dry event in Tailgreat Park.

This made me wonder if we might see increased enforcement even in tailgate park and the various parking lots.
