I can't be the only one impatiently waiting, starving, for that last spot to be filled. Right? I'm not alone?
Na, guilty. Haven’t even noticed staff following anyone new for speculation purposes. Lamar and DeVon Baker (Boals follows him on Twitter) follow each other on IG, but that’s it.
Please tell me we aren't done????
I hope not, a lot of useful players remain in the portal. Might just be less chaotic since the dust is settling a bit. For what it’s worth, Jamel Horton, who we’ve been linked to before the Hunter, add is still available.
I saw an article (can't recall where...ESPN?) but there are still several open roster spots on major teams that are waiting on what happens to several players that are still in the draft but may withdraw. Some of those players are also in the portal. Once the draft deadline passes there should be a lot of movement that will flowdown through the various levels of teams.

I posted posted something similar at about this time last year, but I'm going to say the MAC will have a net-plus when transfers leaving are measured against transfer coming in. The latest addition, 6-1 4-star recruit Thomas Allen to Ball St., adds to what Heath has brought into EMU, Boals to Ohio, etc . . . looking forward to the mystery recruit visiting Athens this weekend Boals alluded to earlier this week.

Could it be Abiodun Adegoke? He could be he ultimate rim protector we’ve been looking for! ;-)

Finalizing the roster this weekend would be great.

Why? I mean I'm as impatient as everyone else to find out who it is and have the full picture for what next year could look like, but ultimately it's just a news rush.

In reality there's a ton of time between now and October. I'd rather the staff find the RIGHT guy who will contribute and make a difference next March rather than the right now guy so we can get our news fix in May.

I think you’re reading more into my comment than necessary. It’d be great for nothing more than having the full roster to talk about. If that doesn’t happen this weekend, also cool. Nothing more, nothing less.

Guessing Devon Baker might have been the recruit who visited this weekend. Now follows Dwight, Gabe, Jaylin, and vice versa.

Josh Mballa going to Ole Miss. He'll get to play Sears in the SEC. Reason to tune into Alabama-Ole Miss next year.

Will be interesting to see how they both fit on the roster. I'm very excited to watch BVP as well if I can.

I see. I see.

Well, having an experienced guard is never a bad thing come tournament time. :)

Change of role and systems probably had something to do with it as well. He averaged about 12 a game in the games he started at the end of the year and his shooting % was much better in those games as well. I think we are going to see a lot of this this year with so many kids changing their situations. Some will prosper by switching systems, like Dwight Wilson, while others will be making huge mistakes by going to the wrong situation, like Jaaron Simmons.

Agree. It was a step up in competition, but I doubt it was the only reason.

Thanks for your hard work on keeping tabs on all these machinations!

I particularly got a kick out of this EMU incoming dude's name:

Legend Geeter - PF (FR) from Providence

Be following him to see what kind of a legend he turns out to be. ;-)

Funny and correct. He even followed two nice young ladies with OU in their bio.

Boals is usually the first to follow all these guys whether they commit or not, (he doesn’t follow) so who really knows.

Jarron Coleman returns to Ball St. after 1 year at Missouri. Talentwise, I thought he was one of the MAC's best guards in 2019-20 and 2020-21, years where the MAC was loaded with talented guards. Not so sure about his attitude and his affect on team chemistry.

He follows Baker on Twitter, for what it’s worth. But agreed, who knows what it means at this point.

Luke Brown is an Indiana native. I sat in front of his family at Millett this year when Stetson played Miami.
Jeff, I don't think Luke Brown played in 1 game for Stetson this year. Started the year there as a true frosh before leaving and returning home to Indiana and Ball St. Was a backup pt guard and played in both games against Ohio.

Thanks for the correction. I was thinking of Stetson's Josh Smith rather than Luke Brown. Smith is an Indiana native, too.
Only gets more bizarre as Luke Brown returns to Stetson.
