I would have to assume that Boals would be a top 3 candidate right now, without question.
I'd even go on to put Boals on the long list for Louisville.
Has Boals done enough as a head coach to would warrant being considered for a potential opening at Ohio State? No.
Boals chance to get a big job has, at the current time, passed. The opportunity was right after that win over UVA.
I think there's some undetected sarcasm going on here
Not really. I just think that his stock was at its highest, so far, after that season. Since that time, they've not done nearly enough to be considered for that level of job.
I was referring to SpongeBob's comment that you responded to. I think your sarcasm detector had a temporary malfunction.
No sarcasm on my end, note I made this comment on 1/27/22. Now its 3/1/23, I do not think OSU calls Boals at this point in time.
OK, if you say so, you are the expert on what you meant, but I would have thought it sarcasm on 7 Jan 2023, as well as now; this ship has looked pretty pedestrian for most of the season, with only occasional exceptions.
I'm confused what you mean by 7 Jan 2023 but they were 16-3 at the time of my post. My take did not age well but at the time it was totally rational thinking that Boals (who recently left OSU) would be near the top of the list for potential coaching replacements. Its gone downhill from then so obviously his stock isn't as high as it was then.
OK, now I'm totally confused, I did mean 27 Jan 2023 (not 7), but now I see you actually said 27 Jan 2022. Back last year we were looking a little better, we even beat Marshall in non-conference play. I'm pulling your leg here a little! But, I really don't think at any point in this season we looked like a very polished team that would have ADs drooling over signing Jeff Boals as their next coach. And, if you look at the kind of players Jeff is bringing in, including promising freshmen, it doesn't look like a coach whose goal is to make a big flash in pan quickly and leave for greener pastures.
