With JSF's post about being non-optimistic about the MAC this year, can we, or should we, be rooting for Akron today over Ok. State?

I root for every MAC team in every OOC game. Was this a rhetorical post?

Without Treadwell and Harney and Abreu hobbled, I don't think it'll matter.

It was more of a "should we ever root for Akron", even today.  Perhaps I should have phrased it that way.

The Zips are down 1 with 15 minutes left, 41-40.

Oklahoma State on a 10-0 run after falling behind the Zips 40-37.  It's now 47-40.

Akron cannot shoot today. Abreu just keeps turning the ball over

No.  Never.  I'm glad they lost.  Since the MAC is a one-bid league, I hope Akron finishes the year with John Carroll as their only win.

For the record, I'm normally one who pulls for the MAC always in non-conf games as well...despite my disdain for Akron basketball.  All boats float higher applies here, and MAC football is showing that this year.  That said, it's not easy to root for them.

I just can't do it. I know I should, but it makes me feel so icky. I just can't.

I root for them OOC, but I laughed when Abreu missed the layup in OT.

It hurts our RPI in the end, but I hope you enjoyed it.

I think we should root for MAC schools in non-conference games because why would we wanna be the only good team in our conference?  That wouldn't make us look better than if Akron, Kent, Buffalo, Toledo, or whomever is having a great season too.  Let's be the only good team so we look awesome.  I don't think that will work.

Personally I'm pretty upset by Akron's lackluster start.  We need an Arnold Palmer to our Jack Nicklaus.

Thank you. If we want the MAC to be a multi-bid league, we need teams that perform.

Yes, I'm sure that me (and a few others) not rooting for Akron was the reason they lost, thereby dragging down the RPI of the conference.
