Crowd was indeed on the weak side, which was to be expected for Dad's weekend.  But what concerned me was despite the mega 110 taking up one more full section than usual, plus Dads taking up seats...that the Ozone didn't exactly look like it was busting out at the seems.  The non-110 half of the bleachers looked Ozone-like, but the sections behind the bleachers looked "semi-interested student" like.  I would hope Ozone turnout would be at an all-time high...and it was an odd weekend with Dads/110/etc...so I'll reserve judgement until things get a little more normal.

I also thought the 110 halftime show was kind of disappointing...Short and not all that exciting.

Agree on the OZone thoughts - not a loud Ozone, but Dad's weekend and the large amount of 110 will have bearing on that.  The floor show, if they're going to promote it, should have been more than 5-7 minutes long.  I was looking forward to the day very much, and in the arena it was kind of a ho-hum day.

We are REALLY getting spoiled, aren't we?

10,000+ at a November basketball game on a weekend when many students went home for the long weekend and against a bad team many of us have never heard of, and we're COMPLAINING?!?!?!
The crowd was exactly what I thought it would be. Was it insane? No, but I wasn't expecting a blackout/Green Fever/MAC rival type game.
Patience, people. Let me remind you, we're not Duke. Not Kentucky. Not even O-$-Who. This school doesn't live and die by basketball, or any athletics for that matter. Once MAC play kicks in, we'll have some better crowd atmosphere, but I don't understand where along the line we started expecting a dull roar for the entirety of ANY game, much less a non-conference 30 point blow out.

I'm with you, Ryan. This was the 6th largest crowd ever...EVER...in the Convo - and we're complaining they "weren't loud enough" or we had "too many empty seats". Are you serious?!?!?

Let's get real here...
1. It's November
2. We're playing Portland
3. Most in SE Ohio have never heard of Portland
4. Those that have heard of Portland know they're not very good
5. We won by 30

What did you expect out of this game? The banner ceremony was nice, we got to see the 110 show, and we got some neat giveaways. But, at the end of the day, we played a lackluster opponent and beat them badly. This was not "game of the century" here, folks. The crowd noise was just fine. Jim Chrisitan himself said it was a "high major" environment.

I think some of you are over-rating the "complaining."  Nobody said they were pissed off or anything, just an observation of the crowd mood.  Reminds of the "DJ shouldn't take 30 foot jumpers with 25 on the shot clock very often....WHY DO YOU HATE DJ?!"  back and forth of last season.

And he still should not (I only remember one from Sat) - but I can live w/his % if he keeps that up! If he hits more than he misses, or at least 40+% - there will be no "complaining" I assure you!

What Andrew said. I'll gladly take 9-10k (what I guestimate was actually there) for a hope opener on a nice day.

It just was a very docile, non-energetic crowd, the 110 included. It certainly wasn't a sell out, overflow, we're a top 25 caliber team coming off a missed free throw from an elite 8 appearance type crowd. It was more of a, we're a pretty good team playing some no-name school and it's only November type crowd. That's all I was saying.

The band started "Long Train" as soon as the under 4 whistle blew. No promo and they still couldn't get through it. The timeout just isn't long enough.

Maybe they should edit the drum/sousaphone dance break - I just wanna hear a full version! Before the 2nd half starts? Followed by a rousing rendition of "OU, Oh Yeah"?

Edit Long Train?

Surely, you jest.

I wasn't wearing mine, but it's because I have no idea where it is.

This isn't anything out of the ordinary.  The athletic department starts enforcing a modern O Zone shirt policy in January.  Until then, anything goes.  I don't mind this in November/December as long as people are wearing Green... Unfortunately this isn't always the case.
