All of the players are in their last week of classes and getting ready for finals.  We need some interior help and Kadeem was eligible 1 December.  Why not use him?  He has to be better than Keely and Baltic.

Isn't the 15th questionable depending on the timing of grades?

I will welcome Kadeem, but we must not treat him as the savior, especially early on.  He's coming off both a year off AND and an injury.

I could have been given bad info, but I was told yesterday that grades are due for release next Tues/Wed.  Since I'm not anticipating his grades being a problem, that leads me to believe he'll be eligible to play for Winthrop on the 15th.

As for being a savior, I'd just welcome another guy in the post who plays the way John Smith does and doesn't consider himself a newly added contributor to the guard rotation.  Oh, and is willing to try to draw a little contact and get to the foul line.

According to Arkley's tweets last night, he says don't expect a savior.

IMO, Green not as good a defender as Smith, doesn't run/shoot as well as Baltic, not has strong/physical as Keely. Minutes tough to come by

13hFor those thinking Kadeem Green is going to revolutionize Ohio's front court look/rotation, think again.

At worst, he's someone Christian can use to spell Ivo when he yanks him off the floor for playing small and away from the basket too much..

I think you were given bad information. Next week is finals week, so grades will be released the following week (most likely Tuesday, Dec. 18). I think the first time he'll be able to see action is the UMass game on the 19th.

Thanks for the heads up.  Bummer in a small way - I was interested to see how he fit in during the Winthrop game.  Regardless my opinions of why I'm interested in seeing him play remain the same.

All I hope is that he's better than Tyquane Goard.

Who is Jason Arkley? How does he know what Kadeem can do? And if he is in the organization those are some dumb tweets to throw out there.

He is the beat writer for the Bobcats.

Does he go to practices or something? If Kadeem isn't as good as Keely how did he end up at Missouri? This does not make much sense to me, I am willing to bet Kadeem's offensive presence in the post will be the best on the team unless Ivo decides to post up again.

Arkley does attend some practices. I have no idea how good Kadeem is or isn't. I hope he's great. But he hasn't had much playing time the last couple of years, so I think it's OK to not place unfair expectations on him.

As to how he landed at Missouri. it happens all the time. Recruiting can be an inexact science. We've had Big 6 transfers here before that could play (like Offutt and Bassett) and that couldn't (Bota and Jackson).

But, remember, Bota was "NBA material" that never seemed to have had the proper coaching to develop into all world.

Arkley sees more Bobcat sports than probably anyone who's not coaching the teams he covers.

As for Green, the guy only averaged 16ppg in High School as a Senior and 11ppg as a Jr.  I think it is fair to say that given his numbers in his limited playing time over the past four years that Arkley's assesment is probably realistic.  Young man will ad depth but is he an answer coming out of the gate?

Saw Green a little here at Missouri last year.  I'd agree that I wouldn't place any huge expectations on him right out of the gate. He was still pretty raw.

But there's no question he has the athletic potential to be very good.

More from Arkley (how'd you do that Ted? Save it as a picture, save it locally and then post it?)

Of course if you don't know who Jason Arkley is, I'm gonna guess you don't know who Terren Harbut is either.
