PS I'm sure glad all of my decisions during my time as a student weren't publicly available.

Then I guess I'm glad I did not pay to watch them.............

I know that you find it interesting that some of our players could in this thread be significantly impugned with the posters getting off scot free as opposed to certain incident years ago when the admins here saw less than that but cowardly caved in on one of the posters on this board.  Craven.

If a kid quits like he did, the board needs to be a little upset. We cannot allow this to be a trend. So many of our fans say be blocked six shots in a game before, so what. Ohio University is a top-flight university. We save this kid from being a scrub at Saint Louis, he could have catapulted his play into a career overseas, just like Tettleton could have made the NFL. If you get full of yourself then leave don't expect any sympathy.

So you know ALL the factors that entered into his decision? If so, please enlighten us. Otherwise, your post is both immature and rather pathetic IMO.

We didn't save him from being a scrub at St. louis IMO. With your logic then we saved Bean from being a scrub. And apparently saved many more guys in the past (Bubba Walther comes to mind).

And who said he 'was full of himself'? Some of you that want to tear a kid down must have rather unhappy and sad lives IMO. He made a decision ... he's an adult. Respect it .. move on. Or grow up.

My point is there is never a reason to quit, especially when you are a senior and have younger players following behind you. I just left the Army, they call what he did going awol. You check out early on the Cats you get no sympathy from me, I don't need to know the circumstances, there are none that warrant quitting. I am going to abstain from calling you names because it would be ignorant to do so, Ohio U deserves better.

Agree with Allen. The facts are he quit. All "quitters" have "reasons"................

After watching the first two games of the CIT I think Jim Christian pulled the Seniors aside and said he wanted them to take lesser roles and use this as a prep for next year for the guys that are returning. Our Seniors have scored a total of 18 points in two games.  Nick Kellogg had only taken fewer than ten shots in a game once in the last 16 (Kent State game where he was in foul trouble the whole game).  He has taken fewer than ten in both these games. Travis Wilkins has only taken two shots in each game.  It's been 24 games since he's taken that few. Same thing for T.J.

This is total speculation on my part but it sure looks like it to me. If my conspiracy theory is correct though you really have to tip your hat to Nick, Travis and T.J. for taking one for the team in order to pass the baton to the younger guys.

OUVan - I have wondered about that. My take is there were discussions maybe to some of that effect. My guess is the discussion was more will have chances to show what they can do and if deliver will get more share of the time. Nick played 33 mins today, Travis 28. TJ of course still injury hampered. Per Smith, think he left because he would have a couple minutes less PT?

you think JC pulled his seniors to the side and said hey, can you not be so good down the stretch, I want to start workin on next year?

c'mon. the young guys are looking good because they are hustling harder, don't take that from them by spinning it as the seniors being told to lay back.

I'm being pedantic, but in consecutive sentences, you called him a kid and an adult. Which is it?

I think JC said post game that Wilk isn't much able to practice and takes a shot before every game.  From which I conclude that expectations for his scoring gotta be down, which leads to the chance that others will take some of his usual minutes.

So your stance is that hustle by the underclassmen is the reason that in the same amount of minutes that Kellogg, Wilkins and Hall have gone from taking 24 shots a game down to 11?

So your stance is that JC pulled his seniors to the side, right after one of them walked out and quit, and told them to stop being so good and winning all the time so the new kids could shine? think about what you're suggesting. it makes no sense.

Isn't the injuries to Hall and Wilkins as well as defensive keying on Kellogg a more likely explanation?

Teams have been keying on Kellogg all season long.  Hall has been hurt all season long.  I have no idea how hurt Wilkins is but he sure looks okay when he does take a shot.

I can't get on board with your theory OUV.  I'll admit there is some evidence to support it, but ultimately it would send the message that this tournament doesn't mean anything and isn't worth putting your best product out there to try and win.  And JC clearly doesn't believe that.

I agree per Wilkens - if less than 10 ft between him and defender when he gets the ball he passes or dribbles away.............can't get it off quick enough...............

He has stepped it up on D lately

Still find it interesting that the moderators let the allegations/character questioning that appears in this thread go without censoring or warning.  Double standard.

Can you point to the specific allegations to which you are referring?

I  too thought it was interesting that JC said they have only had 6 practice players for quite some time. He said they have had no live practice as there are only 6 players ready to go for weeks. Very interesting.
