Winner, winner, half a chicken dinner!  Now, can anyone win the second half of that chicken?

As a hint, here's his picture as a young man shortly after enlisting.  More hints: he raised what was to become Company C of the 5th United States Colored Infantry on the Athens County Fairgrounds.  He's buried in Arlington National Cemetery.   Now all you need is his name and where in Athens County he had been living before enlistment.

In case anyone is interested, I'm part of a group that is working to put up an historical marker at the Fair Grounds to commemorate this deed.  In addition to the historical marker we are going to put up a stone with the names of all the men recruited in Athens for Company C of the 5th USCI.  It's around 90 names.  We have grants from OHS and the Athens Foundation to fund our efforts and are currently working with the Fair Board to find a suitable location.
