I know you try and establish your identity in Nov and Dec but who are these guys? That should not be the case with a Senior dominated team. Ivo playing 2 guard now and our highly advertised backcourt can't score. It's clear these guys are not just taking plays off. They are taking games off. 10 pts scored after the first 8 minutes?

We are consistent at one thing - slow starts time after time. No at large for these guys.

16 pts between DJ, Walt and Nick?  Not going to get it done.

I hope things turnaround but this team seems to lack motivation and energy.

To answer the question:  we were one of the best mid majors in the country from 2000-2008 with plenty of signature victories back then, but we just hired a new coach (kelsey) after replacing Randy Peele who bottomed out the program after Marshall left.

It's probably going to be a bad loss for you guys unfortunately.  Peele didn't leave much when he left and what he left that is quality is very young. 

You guys definitely were flat today as I've seen you play plenty.  But Winthrop also played much better D than they have all year so far.  I think Kelsey is a quality coach and he seems to have them improving already.  Hopefully that bodes well for us getting back to where we used to be as one of the top mid majors like you guys are right now.

I didn't see the game; took the family to see Hobbit.  Just looking at the box score, I've got plenty of questions.  Why was Smith out of the game so much?  He only had three fouls but played just 13 minutes and didn't take a shot.  Offut -- no FGs?  Ivo 1-9?  Good to see he had 11 rebs tho.  And why did they make more FTs (14) than we attempted (13)?  That just doesn't happen to a home team vs. a 3-4 team from a lower-tier conf.

Hate to say this, but next week has the same flavor: UMES

You have every right to worry. Many have said the same thing through the first 10 games. It was quite apparent in Memphis as well. Bizarre to say the least.

What bothers me the most is that he is so negative. He stands on the sideline with his hands turned up as if he is asking the players "WTF" after they do something poorly. I sat behind the bench at RMU and was surprised at how many of the conversations were at pointing blame and cursing at the players. There just seems to be a very negative vibe around this team. I'll wait to reserve judgement, but the change in moral from last year to now is noticeable.
