These guys are 0-4 against DI teams. All three of their wins were against DII schools. this shouldn't be anywhere near as close as the OT win in Bracketbusters a couple seasons ago.

Sounds like no Kadeem still. Should not have trouble with these guys I would hope. Ill be one of the few at the game as I am staying to watch it before I leave for break. Hopefully this game puts us in a groove for the UMASS game.

Santa might be there? All I can think of is hot chocolate and some of the worst cookies I've ever tried.

They'll have free pictures with Santa in the lobby and a few other freebies (cookies, hot chocolate, etc.) It's usually a pretty fun atmosphere.

Well, i think at that point, they were on a first name basis... Looking good, Billy Ray!  Feeling good Louis!... Of course, given the camera shots that showed just how far out the boat actually was, there was no way they actually could have heard each other.  That was SO UNREALISTIC!!! ;)

Yeah, this shouldn't be close (maybe that should worry us).  They're 3-4 but haven't beaten a D1 school this season.  They have one guy who's 6-9, two at 6-8; one avging in double figures and two around 9 pts a game.  No real 3-pt threat, either; their two leaders have each hit a total of 12 in 7 games.  Against D1 schools, they've scored in the 50s three times and 61 once, all double-digit losses.  In the eight days starting Saturday they play us, at O$U and at Auburn.  Doesn't seem to be a win there before Christmas.

Where's Jeff McKinney to warn us that in 2007 Winthrop upset Notre Dame in the NCAA tournament and that they their freshman are really good and that they are getting better every game and that we could be in trouble if we treat this team lightly?

This isn't our father's Winthrop (wow, how weird does that sound??).  They used to be the class of the Big South under Gregg Marshall, but they have fallen on hard times.  They are picked to finish at or near the cellar of their division of the Big South. 

One interesting story about this game is first-year Winthrop coach Pat Kelsey.  A native of Cincinnati, grad of Elder and Xavier.  Was very close to Skip Prosser.  Kelsey is considered one of the top young coaches in the nation.

With Winthrop's coaching staff, facilities and recent tradition, I would expect them to resurrect themselves soon.
