Probably going to be in the O-zone too.  Gotta get a new shirt, as mine was in a bag that was stolen in Grove City

As a Bobcat fan, I would like to encourage Akeem Srings to keep hoisting up 3-pointers indiscriminately at a 28.8 percent clip on Wednesday night.

Mark Montgomery: "It is tough to beat one of the top teams in the league when you only make one three."

They're shooting 28 percent from out there. Stop expecting them to make them, coach.

I thought Nader would be better than he's been this year, too.

That suspension probably didn't help.

You would think this game should be a blow out. Sure would like to see DJ get 35 minutes this game - maybe get a shot at that NCAA 22 single game assists record (last achieved by Sherman Douglas in 1989).

On the coaches show last night, Christian said he didn't practice and is getting treatment.  My guess is he skips the NIU game and hopes to be ready for the Bancroft High matchup on Saturday.

I saw about six promo posters for tomorrow's game between Baker Center and Chubb Hall today. Should be a strong midweek student crowd.

We struggled vs. NIU in DeKalb last year before pulling away.  I just want us to play well and get a solid win.  I don't think we can underestimate any team in this league.  NIU beat Miami at Oxford, and Miami has been respectable at home this season.

No way are our coaches or DJ going to be focused on some big record.

Jeff, you are spot on with the focus of J.C. and his staff.  They are focused on getting a win at home Wednesday against NIU, and could give a "rats @$$ " about pursuit of any individual records or acolades.  They know that any team in this conference can take you down if you are not prepared and ready to play.  You can bet that our kids have heard that message loud and clear since Saturday!

Just checked out the NIU board and the game is not exactly their main focus.  The only basketball related post I saw was someone asking if any football recruits were at the basketball game.

I think Walt is going to have a big game, particularly shooting the ball. Cats by 20+.

They remind me of Winthrop in the sense that I see no possible way we lose to this team at home.

There's one thread on there now. Basically just discussing whether or not it will be a blowout. Unless we shoot lights out (which happened once or twice this year), it probably will be. It's not only 3s we can't make, it's most shots. Even wide open shots. Otherwise the team has gotten a little better. Not much.

Do you think there's light at the end of the tunnel NIU under the current coaching staff?

I think NIU will be a mid-level MAC team in the next season or two. Hard to project after that.

The Huskies are so darn young they can't help but get better in the next couple of years.  For the average casual fan it's probably hard to see the progress but considering that four of the top five minutes guys are freshman it's pretty impressive that they've been in most games.   They have no seniors and only one junior plays a significant role.   If these guys develop they will be in good shape.
