Some will try and tell you to watch out for Jordon Crawford, but don't listen to them. He's a poor shooter and a turnover machine (I know he killed us at BG last year, but that was an aberration). We should eat him alive.

His TO rate is actually better than DJ's.  Crawford averages 3.4 TOs in 34.9 minutes per game, or about one every 10 minutes of playing time.  DJ's is 3.6 TOs in 30.6 minutes per game, or about one every 8.5 minutes.

They just don't have the balance we do.  They're basically a two-man show; Calhoun and Crawford combine for 30.9 of their 66 pts a game.  We have three double-digit scorers -- DJ, Keely and Offutt -- who combine for 36.6 of our 77.9 pts per game. Calhoun and Crawford are on the floor for 35 minutes a game each, which shows their reliance on them; DJ and Offutt lead Ohio with 30 minutes a game each.  Keep one of them in check and you've pretty much neutralized BGSUcks.

Your turnover numbers will be artificially low when you shoot it nearly every time it touches your hands.  Crawford has 75 more missed shots than DJ. Think about how many times people complain about DJ taking too many shots and then realize that Crawford has taken a hundred more than DJ.   He only passes after he has determined that he can't get a shot off.   If you traded the two players we wouldn't have the balance.  And Louis Orr wouldn't be staring at his last year as a D1 head coach.

I predict that DJ moves up at least 2 spots on the all-time assist list during today's game.  It will be an assistapalooza day.

Shouldn't need any promotion at all for that 'kron game to be a sellout.

Anyone who's breathing should understand the moment, the drama and stakes about that game.

Sometimes it's just about the game.

Wrong.  The kids these days need a Happy Meal with their ticket to show up.  You know, there are the video games to contend with and the crying that the game should be on a weekend or they need to skype with their high school girlfriend before she goes to bed and of course the Buckeyes might be playing at the same time or at least they need to catch the Buckeye highlights on Sports Center.  Classes are harder these days so they need to study more and it is not easy to budget time when the schedule comes out only a few semesters ahead and it is simply too close to the loss to Akron to then circle this on your calendar and still have time to do all the other things important on campus that cause more lasting memories than attending a rafter rocker in the Convo.

But since I don't have to study and it's only a 3.5 hour drive each way and a night in the hotel and the price of the ticket, I think I'll make it, cause I didn't like the feeling in the JAR and I'd like to experience the Zip fans who attend feelin the same way.

I would also add we have BY FAR the best student support in the MAC so I am not sure where this whole "Kids these days are too busy playing video games to go to the basketball game" junk is coming from. Attendance has been awesome the last 2 years, especially when you look at our peers in Oxford

Ha.  Exhibit A of why I talk like I know what I'm talking about, and don't actually put a penny on the game.

Ugly win, but a win.  Onward to CMU.

The largest crowd we've EVER had for a weeknight game (at least in the past 20 years or so) is probably no more than 8K. Akron may attract more students than any game all season...but no way it's a sellout. Probably 9K tops, and that's being generous.

Realitively easy to get a sell out for Akron.

Each of the 1st and 2nd year regular game attenders simply bring five kids who live down the hall or eat in the cafeteria.

Don't sit with your friends.  Plop yourself into the midst of strangers and ask them if they've been to a game yet.  Tell them what an awesome time it is and that they could be part of a rare packing the Convo on a weeknite.  The school is tops in communications so certainly you regulars should be able to put a great spin on seeing a part of NCAA history by advertising DJ.  Tell them of the "hate" for the Zips and the technicals they'll see.  Remind em of the blood on the floor from Walt.  Plan to meet and take em into the Convo yourself.  You get push back and go to the next group and do it again.  No reason to not have 6000 additional by doing this push.  Take a page out of that Community Organizer's book that most of you voted for.

You might even get to meet some hot coeds and perhaps one of em will become your wife!  Do it for your team.  The students are the ones that can make it happen.  Resume material!

Looks like 7,231. That game was on a Thursday (2/26/09).  I'm pretty sure that's the right game...

To be fair to Ozcat, I believe you would have won your money back if you had bet on the halftime line.

Not the best game, but we won.  I've seen several ugly games at the Convo that wound up in disappointing losses, so I'm just relieved we pulled away late.

I was cheering for Miami all the way against Akron but secretly I'm glad they kept their win streak intact so we can end it in the Convo.  Can't wait for the stretch run!

Somebody should tell the athletic department thats not good enough then, considering the big ass banner that says "BEST FANS IN THE MAC" they have the OZone wave before games

Compared to our peers our attendance and overall fan support is on a different level. Akron and Toledo consistently get in the 3 to 4 k range along with Kent usually but we are averaging almost 2000 more than the second closest team. Its nice to be the flagship program for the conference

With all due respect CC11, I think you missed my point entirely.
