I don't know anything about Otterbein but only putting up 67 points is concerning. A good D1 offense should certainly score 80+ against a D3 opponent. Their roster is almost entirely made up of Ohio kids.

Thanks 100%Cat. This apt comparison will now be something that I won't be able to get out of my mind when watching Bobcat basketball this winter.

IJ was in street clothes tonight, I'm very worried if he reinjured himself / staff sitting him out as a precaution or a much different and concerning reason. He seemed in great spirits when I talked to him earlier in the week.
Obviously, we really need IJ to contribute this season. If not, then when? Hard to comprehend how we guard the likes of Freeman and the big guy from Miami with what we have. Boals might have some tough decisions to make following this season when it comes to IJ and The Whiz moving forward.

St. John’s lost its exhibition against Pace last week. I’ll be more concerned if we’re not 3-0 heading in Nassau.

Troy won 20 games last season including a win at Florida State.

Playing like last night won't get a win over the blind school. Much less Troy.

This can NOT be understated.

Post of the year nominee.

Gabe IS Mose Schrute. We need t-shirts.

High Points: the 110 sounded really good

Lows: no inside game on either end of the floor
G Wiz getting his shot blocked by Otterbein's 6-7 backup center
then a 3-on-1 fast break that resulted in nothing
the first half stretch that couldn't have beat the blind school
letting D-3 scrubs slash and beat them to the rim
Here's one of these "scrubs" you're referring to. Jack Clements.

Oh I know. Troy also lost a bit of firepower from that team and is picked to finish 8th this season in Sun Belt. Not to be taken lightly; I just mean I expect us to get together and be prepared to win those first three games.

Otterbein picked fourth in a good Ohio Athletic Conference this year. I understand we should have beaten them by more than 18, but they do have several guys who can play.

I can't believe it's 12:55 PM eastern next day after the Otterbein game and there are no video highlights of this game anywhere to be found on-line? Ohiobobcats.com......Ohio men's basketball on twitter....WOUB.....nothing. What is the athletic department and university doing? This is not a "secret scrimmage". Did Boals tell everyone not to shoot the game for scouting purposes?

I know this is a tired rant, but for being one of the best broadcast journalism schools in the country, we sure do drop the ball time and time again.

Kind of confusing and embarrassing at the same time - really want to look at a box score.

Also on Ike - just seemed like he had first game jitters to me. Almost broke an Otterbein player's ankles at one point in the game. Found the postgame presser here: https://youtu.be/VrI5ym7GkR8?si=3MN8NiqZ-vRVaQqr

AJ and Reef both noting how team needs to get tougher for the game against Troy. They also stressed that they need to get their shooting better after missing a ton of looks last night.

Boals has a few good points about getting better on deflections and rebounding. Thought we had a few rebounds we could have gotten that ended up in Otterbein's hands.

And my god, we need some GWiz / Moses Schrute t-shirts now. The appearance is so uncanny LMFAO! Post of the year nominee.

Thanks for sharing the clip. Feel better about the acknowledgment of what’s needed to maximize lack of size. I suspect we’ll see an uptempo style and a lot of running.

In fairness, there is now a piece on WOUB's youtube channel. But not to have a box score or live stats I now have to only believe that's by design to give Troy very little scout.

Seems like 10-15 years ago we had far more self-starters in student media. It's one thing to have the school. It's another to WANT to command the work. Decker was covering high school tournament volleyball so I'm sure he'd have no qualms about asking this, but considering we are sitting on an open scholarship, only three bigs on the roster, losing Dwight, how is IJ's status not asked in the postgame presser?

And, to put this in perspective, I seem to recall Kentucky losing to Gardner Webb several years ago. Was that an exhibition or an early regular season game? And, once upon a time, in memory of many of us, OHIO lost a shootout to Ohio Wesleyan. So, don't take these D3 teams too lightly.

It's hard not to laugh at this thread because of the lack of coverage of this game so most of us are going based on the final score and a few posters.

That being said, I feel good about holding them to under 50 points. Troy will be a much tougher test.

Louisville Falls to Kentucky Wesleyan in Final Exhibition
https://www.si.com/college/louisville/basketball/recap-20...

So, it does happen this time of the year.

It's not the final margin that is so concerning last night. It's some of the crappy play. This includes, offense, defense, transition game, etc.

So is Tennessee Tech. In the not-so-good news department, APSU played them in an exhibition game and beat them by 39.

You're right, and I knew that. Sloppy wording on my part. GW is not exactly a household name in basketball. But, OWU is D3!
