Either this thread was put up late or the enthusiasm is unenthusiastic.

That's what happens when the only thing that matters is the postseason to so many people. They can't enjoy the ride getting there.

I think everyone is still protesting the 11AM tip. I for one, am excited for another national TV game. I'm throwing a pork shoulder in the slow cooker tonight and I'll have carnitas in time for the game.

Don't you mean 24 hours and 20 minutes before tip?

Kent has been playing good basketball lately...including the "injured" Chris Evans, who is legit first team all-MAC.

Agreed. This should definitely be a tough and close one.  I say, let's get the close win and let Kent keep playing good basketball...all the way to taking one from Akron in 4 weeks.

Agreed.  Evans is a matchup problem, and just like the game up there, he will probably "get his." The key will be what the rest of the team does.  I'm not sure who they will match up on Evans, or if they will try to double him and force the ball out of his hands.  Ricardo is probably the best option, Walt and Nick didn't seem to be able to handle him up there, but Ric won't be starting.  As important as his scoring is, it's equally as important that we don't have guys like Walt and Nick get into foul trouble guarding him.

I am expecting a tight game, Kent St won't go away easily.

Evans makes it tough because he's such a good passer.  He makes you pay for doubling him.

I'd still do it.  Keep the ball out of his hands and in Holt's hands as much as possible.

You're probably right, Van...gotta hope Holt doesn't go off for a big game, especially from three.

Evans is definitely one of the toughest guys to guard in the MAC.  He has good court vision and makes nice passes to guys cutting to basket off double teams.

I remember seeing an awful lot of show-boating by Kent players during the meeting up there.  I'd love to not see any of that tomorrow, so let's jump out to an early lead.  Otherwise, Convo custodians may be cleaning up some puke-related messes from me.  I can't stand that crap.  Act like you've been there before.

I'm seeing Ohio -11, but either way, wow... when was the last time Kent State was a double-digit dog in conference play?

Looks like those of us who are out of town can watch on espn3.com.  Not blacked out here in the Kansas City area.

Wrong.

And who can forget the Rush > Springsteen incident.

Or on ESPNU, which will be on most digital cable line-ups (as well as any sports bar worthy of the name...if you don't mind being the only guy in the bar at 10am local)

One of many things I miss about Athens.  Not being alone at the bars at 10am even if there are many blacked out.

I really don't understand some of the substitutions coach Christian makes at times...he pulls T.J. Hall (rightfully so) after his 3rd air-ball from three-point land, and instead of going with Ivo or Jon Smith, he puts Ricardo in as our 'power forward'?!  We're already an undersized team that struggles mightily with rebounding...so what makes him think a 4-guard line-up is going to help that cause.  The next trip down Kent missed, Ric's man gets 2 offensive rebounds and goes to the line.  Not necessarily his fault, I think the coaching staff has to put our players in a better spot at times.

On another note, our offense looks bad right now...Kent has obviously figured out all we do is run guys off ball screens and chuck up 3's.  Reggie had some easy buckets inside early, I don't know why we go away from that.  We've got to pick it up, this is a win we HAVE to get at home.  GO BOBCATS!

I haven't forgotten. If I have to be the sole bulwark (the Working Man, if you will) against the tide of Springsteen, I will.

This was a disjointed first half. You could just tell the crowd and the team were all tired/hungover and not used to the 11am start time. I look for us to pull away in the 2nd half. Also, Rush>Springsteen
