Dear Ozone,

You chant "Bullshit!  Bullshit!  Bullshit" and "You, You, You,You, Suuuuuuuuck"  without any problem...  Yet, you let the marketing dept or whoever convinced you that "Let's go, Bobcats" is better than "OU, Oh, Yeah!"  I'm sorry, but you really dropped the ball.  It doesn't change what happened on the court, but C'MON.  Man up and follow through.  You "pussied out" BIG TIME.

A'ight, read the damn story I just posted. I do not appreciate that comment. I am just as pissed about it as the rest of you are. Sorry to have wasted your time.

My apologies.  I went too far.  We share the same frustration.  My anger should be towards Marketing and not you guys.  Ozone was awesome last night.  Maybe this chant will only work at football games, but don't stop trying.

Well, to set the record straight, read RP's post.  It was NOT Marketing's fault.  When RP says he was "waved off" from across the convo he is talking about his own group--the Ozone.  It obviously wasn't RP's fault, he was all-in, but it does seem to show the Ozone is NOT on the same page.  Leadership issues?  Frustrating IMO.

I feel like the university knew about our plan and wanting to get away from the whole OU thing told the cheerleader and PA announcer to do this chant. Maybe i am being paranoid, but it seems a little fishy to bust this new chant out the same night we planned this.

Of course it was. And it was pretty weak. Obviously force fed, and ended up actually pretty lame and embarrassing. "Hey, let's try to show all the Akron fans here that we follow direction well and can feign enthusiasm for a chant we have never heard before".

"Let's Go - Bobcats" do you mean?  You've never heard that before?  That's besides the point anyway.

Whatever your answer, I don't think the Ozone should be waiting for permission or whatever to do a perfectly respectable chant (OU - OH YEAH).  If you say you are going to do it right before the tip and you get on here and spread the news then come hell or high water that's what you should do.  Think "flash mob" --  if there's some unsuspecting noise or people in your way you don't wait or change your plans or do it another day, you go for it just as planned otherwise it's likely nobody is going to follow your "plans" again.  Maybe that's a bad example but the Ozone kept bumping the thread and posting in giant bold letters it was happening and then nothing.  Embarassing.

I meant that I had never heard the PA tell the whole crowd to cheer that particular chant.

That is true, but marketing gave us a heads-up. The only way you could see that as a conspiracy is that the video aired about a minute and a half after it was supposed to. That was actually because the dance team's pizza giveaway ran a bit long. I don't fault them at all. They pre-planned us.

The student section will be tiny for the Miami game and senior day for one of our most influential group of seniors ever. Have I mentioned I HATE semesters?

I agree, it is a shame that we are sending this group of seniors out when the vast majority of campus will be empty. I would not miss this game for anything though.

Strickland won the [2006] election = his guy (Fingerhutt...mayby Fingerhut) gets to implement his desired changes...the impact of which is to diminish OHIO's greatness.
