Been told by someone close to the Ohio athletic department that they're expecting around 10,000-11,000 people in attendance on Wednesday. That's quite a bit higher than a lot of the prediction here on the board.

Will be interesting to see what the final attendance ends up being.

I will never understand it, but a lot of students planning on attending or on the fence will back out when it's raining.  Hopefully, it is only rain and not ice or we will have a regular Wednesday crowd.

Ice didn't stop us from getting 13,000 to the Miami game last year. Just tell your buddy who's on the fence that it's clear skies and 70 degrees in the Convo.

Me and 7 guys from our dorm are heading over at 3:30-4:00 to get a spot in line. We've been told their opening the doors at 5:30 instead of 6:00.

Agreed.  Please don't let me hear about worries of ice keeping anyone from walking a mile to the biggest home game in a long, long time.  The weather will be fine outside.  Inside, the weather will be hot and it won't be raining or snowing...unless you're an Akron fan or player, in which case it's a 100% chance of hostile weather.

No - the green student section seats do not show as sold.

Tomorrow evening would be the perfect time to do something I've been talking about for 30 years - run the university busses through campus and the student neighborhoods with the 110 blaring from the speakers giving anyone and everyone a ride to the game.

I made conversation with the ticket office people when I picked up my ticket. According to them, there have been 5500 student tickets allotted for the game. Realistically, they expect around 4k to show up but 5500 isn't out of the question.

5,500!! That's 42% of the Convo. That would be a hell of a student section.

Not sure it means anything, but the student section seats are listed as sold out on the ticket website.  A quick run-through of the seating chart shows about 3500 tickets left for tonight.

Too bad our  team is not the best. Blowing an 18 point lead on the Convo floor is not good and a telling sign that the Zips are just better this season.

Don't know for sure...I'd say 10,500.  There were a lot of empty seats behind the baskets on either end up high.  Great crowd, electric atmosphere...very disappointed in the outcome

Looked like a big time crowd/atmosphere on the tube.  And, I would say this just confirms that if OHIO really wanted to make a splash, basketball probably is where it is at.  Seems to be a real big time following by students and locals when it is a big game.  Just too bad we don't have more big games.  Also confirms the rest of the league, right now, adds absolutely nothing to make the MAC look like a high basketball mid major.

Very disappointing for our fans, students and alumni!!

That's just sickening that we were able to pull that off on a Wednesday night.

We should sell out for DJ, Walt, Reg, Ivo and DMac's Senior Day against Miami. I don't care what anyone says.
