On TV, it sounded like a pickup game at a local gym, even when BGSUcks took the lead in the second half.  You could hear coaches yelling instructions and players talking to one another.  Reminded me of a MEAC game.  What a difference from Wednesday.

Announced crowd of 2,662...and I think that's pretty generous.

After further review, that's the #2 Stroh Center crowd on the season - surpassed only by the Michigan State game. Yikes!

I watched a good bit of the game, and the crowd was pitiful. I saw almost as many Ohio fans as BGSUCKS. JK, but Ohio fans came in good numbers to support the team and if we had Hall in the game, we could have won by more than 13 points. Overall I was happy from our starters except Ivo. We might be clicking at the right time.

Definitely more than 100. We had one section completely full of Bobcats and a good portion of a second one, plus a couple patches behind the basket and on the opposite side. I'd say a couple hundred total

I actually like the entry way there, but that's about it. The place just feels drab and boring, and not because of the home basketball teams.

It's just an updated version of their old drab, boring place, with somehow even less character than the original.

I actually like the entry way there, but that's about it. The place just feels drab and boring, and not because of the home basketball teams.


Drab and boring.  They wanted something that fits the area's landscape in winter.

What I don't understand is why you would build a place that makes you walk up steps to the concourse level so that you walk down to your seats.

I think they were on spring break, although, I'm not sure how many more there would have anyway.

I've definitely seen the Stroh Center emptier before. I was kind of surprised to see as many people as there were, but they weren't very loud at any point. At least 10 percent of the crowd was Ohio fans. I even got my parents to come down from Toledo to cheer for the Bobcats.

To go with the only other man made elevation in BG, the hill along the golf course from I-75

My undergrad alma mater is one flat place to live so you have to create reasons to go up and down

And to get the 4,200 they sold a three-pack of tickets for $45. I bought it, knowing I'd be going to the Ohio game. My dad went to the MSU game. He was surrounded by Spartan fans.

They officially opened the Stroh Center in front of 3,476 fans last year. Maybe they can call Miami and see where they buy their tarps.

I was in attendance and I don't think the crowd was as bad as some of you are saying.

By BGSU standards, it was a pretty good turnout.  I don't think the 2662 figure is inflated.  

I agree Ohio fans made up about 10 percent of the crowd.  There were pockets of OU fans throughout the arena..

Stroh Center is OK.  No frills.  Concessions, restrooms, and their version of the Rohr Room are set up nicely.  Their scoreboard is really nice.  One thing I don't like about it is that they did not angle the seats in the corner to give it a bowl effect.  Didn't CMU do that?  Their new updated arena looks good on TV.

I also thought the Stroh had a nice setup (once you actually walked up to the concourse). I like the scoreboard, but I question the need to have a live video feed of the game on it. At no point anywhere in the arena are you too far away to see the action on the floor. I would have much rather seen the five on the floor and their stats. I noticed about halfway through the first half they had that info on the little display behind the other basket. It would have been nice to have that on the main board and not have to look two different places for information.

DO they use the board on  the visitors end 2nd half to distract the Free Throw shooting? I can not remember the set up but seem to remember I was going to ask the players about that.

I really like what CMU built with their arena, really first class building that offers a lot. I was on the Akron board and noticed they are crying for a new arena that is 8-10,000 seats. LOL, but I was thinking if Akron were to build a new basketball arena, it should look like this, but maybe 1,000-1,500 more seats. I do wish we would build a practice arena south of the Convo, but we shouldn't pay for a practice arena or raise student admissions. 

What do you guys think about all the new football/basketball arenas and amenities getting built for the other MAC universities?
