Home from Beefallo.  Though it isn't a building of beauty at least Alumni Arena has a better feel "size-wise" than most of the MAC gyms I've visited.

Sat right near the bench and coach misses half the action as he gives it to someone he just took out.  The only guys I didn't see him explain or ask what was going on during their stint was DJ and Stevie and JonSmith.  Everyone else had a word or two to hear!  Coach was crindging at every offensive rebound that Buffalo snared.

What I enjoyed most was as pointed out earlier, the way Stevie single handedly got the Bobcats rolling.  How at moments during the first half Ivo attacked the basket (only to settle on jumpers during the second half) and Big Reg's hustle to get offensive rebounds and one particular play where he got perhaps his own rebound and muscled it back up for the score when points were getting tough to come by for OUr Cats.

Lastly, DJ's penetrations and finding Smith for slams is a pick your poison for the opponents D.  DJ even worked a nice pick and roll where he was the roller and got an easy bucket from his partner in the 2 man game.  Then when DJ simply took the ball away from the opponent off the dribble and took it himself coast to coast looked like any of us playing against some 8 year old, it looked so easy!

Glad to hear he is coaching them up during the game. Good teaching moments.

UB's student section is a joke, possibly the douchiest in the MAC*, **\

I have been saying that for years. WHat kind of fans spend the time while they are introducing their seniors trash talking the opposing players who are quietly sitting and clapping for YOUR own seniors? What kind of fans are hooting and hollering at the opposing players during the Anthem when it is Military night honoring soldiers and sailors in the house?

They may turn out and be rowdy but they are uncouth, abusiive and boorish.

Glad you reported. THat is the same experience I had.

I don't know I was very impressed with their creativity last night.  "Hey, <Insert Player name here> You Suck!"

I will say one of them asked Ivo after the game if he was graduating, when he said yes, the kid just said "Thank God".

Also interesting to note they had a black out when we wore our black uniforms haha.

IT is what it is. I missed our offensive end because the replays of Buffalo highlights were going on during our possessions. I can't imagine sitting in the head chair and watching a game like that. Consistent with what 695 and I saw a couple of times this year. IF those are coaching moments I would hate to see an ass rippin. I know a lot.....a lot ....of players who respond to that by shutting down. Not ripping on Coach as It is what it is. That is his style.

Were they still waving around the tired old picture of DJ in the bikini top?

Hate to spread rumours but WOTS is that DJ now possesses the poster that was being waved around.

While there were some positives to take from last night's game, many mentioned above, I can't help but wonder if our defense might want to body up the opposing team's best offensive threat when said team is taking the ball out from under their own basket. Something to work on during the long layoff between Miami game and MAC semifinal game.

I don't have any stats on this, but Ivo seems to be at his best during the first half.  He may be best used by playing him all 20 minutes of the first half and sitting the second.

Here's this article about Cooper allegedly taking the poster and Reggie getting into with Javon's mom?? How much of this is true and how much is exaggerated for effect by the Buffalo students?

It's probably all pretty accurate.  DJ and Reggie definitely don't back down from anyone.  DJ basically said in the post game that he is well aware of the poster and it pisses him off.  Dj is one of those guys that can simultaneously be a great guy who happens to be a trash talking, confrontational ego-maniac on the court...it works for him.

There is a lot less known about the Reggie incident, but I doubt it was unprompted.  I'm sure Mama McCrea said something and Reggie didn't go without responding.

But in the end, DJ was 7-2 against the Bulls and put up some big numbers.

Because True Blue is all class and doesn't swear, right?

What a terrible article. Did they even try to get another perspective on that? Or is secondhand information just fine?

ANd Andrew is right.....7-2 gives me much satisfaction..... I hope True Blue has been rabid and vocal the entire series.
