Just looked at the Akron/Buffalo box, Bulls starters played 185 of 200 minutes.

That would have been even higher if Nuiriankh hadn't been ejected in the second half. In watching the game he (almond with Ibitayo for Akron) got double Techs and ejected, but the box score shows no Techs. They were definitely ejected though. Wonder if that means Nuiriankh will have to sit against us?

Weather permitting will make the trip with two or three others--looking forward to if the PA notes the milestone DJ will likely surpass.

The Falls, Roast Beef on Weck, Wings and the Cats at 7pm.  The trip isn't much worse than going to Athens andthe area offers lots attractions.  Consider making the trip when the football Bobcats play there next autumn.

This is a good time to play them. Everybody's telling their players how great they are from family to friends to Facebook, etc.  It won't be easy for Reggie to get them down from the high. Let's get on them early.

I made and continue to make trips to Athens.I am in no way discouraging the trip as I think our guys need our support but the last time I drove up there it was through a blizzaed that left a couple of feet of snow and took 13 hours. I flew then next time  as I swore I would never do that again.

To be fair it was on the weekend of the winter festival and I had a grand time as it was winter weekend and the festival was spectacular but there is no way I am goning to telll a fellow Bobcat after hundreds of trips to Ahtens that those 2 drives are in any way similar.

All of the sudden this is a dangerous game. UB has been playing better and obviously just beat Akron. I think we still win but this could be a close game. Hopefully Nick Kellogg keeps up his level of play from Bowling Green

This should be a nice scrimmage game before the MAC tournament.  I think it will be nice to go up against a Buffalo team that is playing really hard.  I think we will win, but if we lose we are still locked for the TWO Seed.

Elton Alexander has the only mention I've seen about their ejection.  They could be ejected without getting a T if the fouls were Flagrant 2  (excessive and extreme in nature).  I don't think there's an automatic suspension for the next game.

I don't think we can assume they'll have a hangover for our game.  The thing we have going for us, though, is that their game started six hours after the Ohio-BGSUcks game, so our guys were home and probably refocusing on them well before their game was over.  My guess is that our practice today went a whole lot better than theirs.

I watched the game as well and didn't understand the ejection. There wasn't any public explanation offered.

I have a feeling this one will be a war.  We have to get a big lead early and take some of the air away from them or it'll be very tough.

For some reason, Akron does not seem to match up well with Buffalo...but Ohio does seem to match up well with Buffalo because we are better on the perimeter.  We have to exploit that advantage.  Right now, Buffalo is a very dangerous ball club.

Akron can't stop McCrea by guarding him straight-up. So they have to double or even triple him when he gets the ball down low. McCrea is smart enough to dump it to Will Regan (who is underrated) or kick it out to the perimeter for an open three. In other words, Buffalo can neutralize the Zeke/Tree pairing. What's different about us? We're much better about denying McCrea the ball in the first place and I think we've collapsed on him a lot less. If he wants to lay it up, fine. We didn't want him finding the open man on the arc.

Since no one else has mentioned it yet I'll throw this out there.....a loss here could actually be beneficial to our chances in the MAC tournament (ignoring things like momentum into the tourney, which I think is also important).  Buffalo is currently the 6 seed, if they get to 4th or 5th they could play Akron in the Semi's assuming they win their 1st game.  That of course is no lock but it will probably keep me from getting too bent out of shape should we not win Tuesday.  I of course prefer a win in Buffalo and to beat Akron in the Championship game for revenge (and bragging rights with my in-laws).  Although meeting Buffalo in the finals would bring about the opportunity to relive the "What is Buffalo Sucks" moment, so consider me torn.

Also, I realize we have 2 big games coming up this week and a looming matchup likely with  Western Mich.  No need for the 1 game at a time speech.

Actually, not really. I'd love to win - but it does nothing for us either way. Would like to keep the momentum going, though...

I was at the Akron/UB game covering it for QCS and will be covering the Ohio/UB game this week for WOUB.

UB is much better than what their record indicates but they'll have trouble with OU. The Bulls have been in a lot of close games where they just weren't able to pull out a win including their first game at Akron where they were up 20 only to end up losing.

Players to look out for include:

-Javon McCrea: Obvious choice. Playing big as of late. Good rebounder and scorer. Had 26 points vs. Akron
-Jarryn Skeete: One of the best freshmen in the MAC. Will be a very good player in the future. Can score and a decent passer.
-Will Regan: 3-star recruit out of HS. Transferred from Virginia. Not a huge post presence but scores around double-digits and can hit his jump shots.
-Tony Watson: Has been absolutely on fire the last two weeks. Solid shooter who is prone to be streaky. If he gets hot, watch out.

With all of that said, I think OU should probably win this game by 8-10 points. The Bobcats have the better guards, experience, and should be able to come out with a victory.

If Akron manages to lose another game it matters.  They still have to play Kent again.

I agree that every game matters.  But Akron plays Fiami tomorrow night at home.  It was only a 4-pt game in Oxford, but senior night in Akron will likely be another story.  Won't be pretty.

My understanding is that for Akron to lose the #1 seed, they have to lose out.  And Ohio would have to win out.

So Akron would have to lose to a badly limping Miami team in Akron tomorrow night, plus lose to Kent State this weekend.  If Akron ends up with two losses and Ohio also does, Akron wins the tiebreaker.

I'd take a 4 point win in a heart beat.  We have the long bus ride after the BG bus ride and they have been sitting home. You know, life on the road in the MAC.  I must say though, JC has really got em going on the road this year.  I sure hope it continues Wed!

Tuesday, Casper.  That even intensifies your point about travel up there.

I wonder if they are busing or flying??

I don't have time to respond to this.  Could someone send this to one of the illustrious 'kron posters for a response.
