Ohio would be Co-Champs but Akron would get 1 seed. Here is another question. If Ohio shares the regular season title would it clinch an NIT birth as a conference regular season champion?
Zips are looking pretty bad. At this point I would have to say Kent becomes the favorite on the Akron side of bracket.
No. Akron, as the #1 seed, would be the only team to clinch the NIT bid.
But a championship means another flag hanging from the Convo rafters.
THIS. Flags fly forever (unless you go to Michigan). Nobody will know or care in 25 years that it was a split championship, all they will see is that we won the MAC that year. We are closing in on Miami for all time MAC titles and I dont see them winning anytime soon. (edit:This would put us at 11 regular season titles breaking a tie at 10 with BGSU, Miami has 20!)
