Come on man.  Never lose your sense of humor.  I'm actually not happy Abreu got busted.  The MAC needs all the good players and teams it can get.  But, some of the posts are pretty darn funny and clever over on the other thread.

I think that sums up my feelings exactly.

THis line of thinking surely limits your TV selection

Letterman and Leno are out along with Kimmel, Conan and several others.

No way in hades you could watch COlbert or Schneider.

THis is pretty basic stuff in their daily fare.

SOrry about your moral outrage but it is funny that you use Akron as the standard bearer for low breeding and claslessness. Was that intended or just a Freudian Slip that just happens to be oh so  true?

That thread is kinda pathetic...Openly cheering the arrest of a rival's star player? We're better than that.

No doubt. This is the tamest message board ever. In regards to cheering about Abreu getting in trouble, I dont know the guy personally so I am not happy he is going to jail but I am happy that it screws over Akron, I am happy it helps our team and I have no sympathy for someone trafficking drugs. If he did it, good riddance

Seems like a good thread topic to post this:

Ohio is lucky man.  DJ Cooper, Mr. Technical himself is still on the floor while the Choir Boy is in the slammer or made bail.  Losing to Akron twice and still sharing the Regular Season Championship.  Miami goes stone cold and gives up a sure victory to keep Akron as the top dog.  Then looking at the brackets only to see Ohio has no BSU, no Buffalo and no Kent to get to the finals. Life isn't fair I tell you, life just isn't fair.

How's that for acting like I went to Akron?

Since you didn't provide footnotes, please reference where you saw that?

I'll say it- I am openly cheering for AA's arrest. YEAH!!!

This young man deserves any coy, joking remarks made by rival fans on their own message board (as if that's so bad, given the circumstances). This is not about a guy who failed a test, or didn't fill out the proper paperwork, or even about a guy who got drunk and got in a fight and then resisted arrest. Those are failures in effort or examples of poor judgement in the heat of the moment.

No, this is about a young man that slowly, deliberately, methodically, (allegedly) planned to commit a felony knowing full well what the consequences of his action would be. There is no grey area when it comes to dealing 5 pounds of weed. His actions were extremely selfish and affect not only himself but his teammates. He had many opportunities to walk away and he didn't. He did it on purpose and his ignorance and selfishness deserves no sympathy.

I feel no sympathy for his teammates either because there is a good probability that at least one person on that team was close enough to him to know about his enterprise, and there's a good chance that those that knew didn't tell him to stop because if you like to buy weed, having a teammate that sells it comes in handy.

I do, however, feel bad for the fans that have to explain to their young children why their favorite player is no longer on the team. That sucks and I do not cheer for that.

We all make mistakes, this was no mistake, this was plain dumb.

OPen, honest and well said. I love folks who have the balls to say what they feel and defend their stance.
