In the grand scheme of the game and basketball philosophy JC is, of course, correct. Who starts is of little importance because the score is 0-0 with 40 more minutes to prove yourself. It's the guys who are on the court with the score tied the last 10 minutes that REALLY matter in terms of direct correlation to winning vs. losing games.
That being said, the player introductions that go along with announcing each teams starting five, not to mention the excitement/energy associated with starting a game (plus it goes in the history books recording who started) is CERTAINLY a big deal in terms of individual player recognition. It's something they can tell their kids and grandkids about some day and something nobody can ever take away from them. It's a big enough deal that it's a small gesture he SHOULD make for these guys that really won't affect either the single game outcome or our post-season positioning.
I'll be honest, if he doesn't, my opinion of JC drops lower than it already is (not that he or anyone outside my living room cares). It's not always about wins and losses. Sometimes it's about doing what's right for the guys in the locker room.
