Gettin' psyched, even if this game is more of a chance to highlight our strengths/turn our intensity up to 11 for the remainder of the season. I even just convinced a girl (NOT an OHIO grad) that watching the game during our date saturday night is a great compliment to the already-planned growlers.

Confusing "compliment" with "complement" is common.

My ex-English teacher mom is probably turning over in her grave but I never knew there was a difference.  This board can be so educational.

I am a miserable person to be around when the Bobcats lose.

How important is this game?

Do we give more playing time to bench players?

If we are down a lot early 2nd half, do you rest starters for Akron?

Even if we are close, do we rest people?

I know every game is important and you try to win every game. And this will be TV game against a good mid-major.

But we have zero shot at At-Large NCAA selection. Winning at home against Akron is way more important in my opinion. The game is late on Saturday.

Do we play the game a little differently if you are the coach?

Herm Edwards would say you play to win the game. This is not a vacation, and an at-large selection is not 100% out of the question. Even if we win the auto-bid, beating Belmont will help in seeding purposes.

I agree a conference game is more important than bracketbuster at this point.  But by placing your two statements together it makes it look like they are related.  If making the dance (and not winning a regular season MAC championship) is the prime objective and an At-Large is a "zero shot" then really the only important game is not next Wednesday but on Saturday March 16th.  And Friday March 15th is obviously important too.  Should the 'Cats play differently until the Tourney?  No.

I think the 'Cats will and should play Belmont like they have played all their games, looking for the win.

When they start putting numbers up on the scoreboard it's time to play to win.

We have won 12 of last 13 games, I think you need to keep everything the way it has been. Continue to improve, cut down on the turnovers and finish off  MAC play strong and go into the MAC tourney with tons of momentum (even more so then last year).

Not playing this game or any game with 100% intensity and desire is not even worth discussing.

Quick thread hijack - Do we have a confirmation day/time for the Miami game? I am trying to make plans to get to it but I have seen conflicting schedules.

Thanks.

Belmont's biggest threat is senior shooting guard Ian Clark.  The guy has obscene shooting numbers.  He's slumped the last two games going 2-15 from three but before that he was shooting better than 50% (85-165) from behind the arc.  Unlike many three-point shooters he's even more impressive inside the arc, shooting 64% (93-146).

Guys, seriously, Belmont has an RPI of 28 right now.  As Jerry Palm basically said on 700 WLW the other day that to be considered for an at large you need to beat at least one less than 100 RPI team at their home.  This is our last chance at that and we can't let it slip away.

Geez.  I wish ESPN hadn't predicted that.  Now Belmont is going to come out with a big chip on their shoulder and an "us against the world" attitude.   Bobcats need to be ready to play tough on the road like they did down here against Michigan in the dance last year.

Any D-1 player worth his salt shouldn't need the opinion of an ESPN blogger to motivate him.
