[QUOTE=Victory] There was a disconnect. Sears had checked out about a month before the season ended, in my opinion. The team that was 22-3 was not the same team that finished 3-6. But like I said, just my opinion.
Sure felt like Sears knew last January he had one foot out the door. Not sure why people get bent out of shape with the people on this board who feel he could have handled the situation of his departure better. Just because he wore the green and white for a few years doesn't mean you have to cheer him on at Alabama.
Agreed. I couldn't care less what a player does after he leaves here. But I know others feel differently.
I agree with both of these sentiments. I kind of made an exception for BVP, since he paid his dues here and was basically on his 85th graduate year when he transferred to Virginia where the head coach was his godfather.

Understandable and I have ZERO ill will toward any kid that leaves for what they see as a better opportunity. I just don't have any interest in following their college careers after they are gone.
I knew I couldn't be the only one to feel this way...

Even if you were still rooting for Sears, not sure how the Miller situation didn't turn people completely off from wanting Bama to cut down the nets in Houston.

Also Nate Oats with some questionable X's and O's. Down 2 with 49 seconds against SDSU and he fouls intentionally? Why not try to get one stop and the ball back down 2 with 19 seconds left? Worst case you are down two possessions with 19 seconds left and there is still time. Didn't agree with fouling there.

Ok, with BVP's college eligibility now exhausted, what is his future? NBA? Europe? Coaching? Prof at OU with how many masters he has?

zero chance for NBA. He seems intellectually curious so Europe makes sense on a number of fronts. I see him more in management rather than coaching - or working completely outside of the game.

Does he LOVE playing basketball?

He always seemed like the type that understood basketball was his way to pay for school.

Zero part of me would be surprised if he moved right into working a job outside of basketball. Zero part of me would be surprised if he ended up on the bench next to Boals or Bennett.

Whatever he chooses, he'll be an asset.

I agree with this analysis, though, it’s based in my part on just a general sense of the man from afar as a fan. I see him as a man who sees playing basketball as a fun thing to do in college but not as a career. Could be totally wrong, but that would be my guess. He could end up coaching, or in an occupation that has nothing to do with basketball.
