Through the first 30 or so minutes, that was the most brutal game I have watched in some time. You knew a few things were going to happen: 1) we were going to brick 80% of our shots, 2) no offensive rebounds so we were 1-and-done, and 3) Miami was going to milk 33 of the 35 seconds off the shot clock every possession. Stevie and Jon were huge in this game, Jon with his boards and unexpected points and Stevie with his defense and transition points. Late in the game with us up by a few when Nick re-entered the game, I had a feeling he was going to bury a shot if he got a good look, and his bucket sealed it. It was a disappointing performance through most of the game, but it was great to see them not quit and make the run to retake control of the game.
Now, on to Cleveland on Friday!
Another huge contribution from Jon Smith was his defense on Felder. I think Felder had 16-18 points before Smith pretty much shut him down the rest of the game.
Not only did Nick have a big shot after being pretty much non-existent most of the game, but the same could be said about Ivo (3-pt basket in final minutes) and TJ (rebound basket in final minutes).
