The teams that are losing in tournament games today, eg., Illinois, seem to have problems with their field goal percentage. OHIO really needs to be patient and get good shots to win both tonight and, hopefully, tomorrow night. OUr team cannot have a repeat of the first 30 minutes of last Saturday's game. Go Bobcats!

Any word on jersey selection for tonight? Are the black ones being saved for championship game again?

I would assume as the higher seed, they would wear white, but they can technically wear whichever ones they wanted (white, green, or black).

I'm supremely confident in our men to bring this home.  They are on a business trip, and they know how to close deals. Bobcats by double digits.

LOL, reading the WMU board they are whining about D.J. being "treated like royalty" by the MAC refs.  I must have missed that.

WMU board has a tread saying that Paul is sick and may not play?

As someone said, Western has won 20 games which means that they can win ball games. Just how many teams have we beat that had even a winning record?

5-7 against teams with winning records.
1-7 against teams with 20+ wins (the only W being WMU back in January).

We haven't won a single big game yet this year, so it's no wonder I'm REALLLLLY skeptical about our chances tonight.

I'm going against my mind/gut and going with heart though (let's just hope the seniors step up one more time) and say 70-67 Bobcats.

We beat KSU twice, and they have 20+ wins. That would at least get us to 3-7.

but also looks at number of bad losses this year compared to last year.

this year- 2. Winthrop and Robert Morris.
last year- 5. Robert Morris, Kent State, Bowling Green, EMU, Toledo.

This team can win 2 in Cleveland, they're focused.

Yep you're right I forgot to add their win from last night so I still had them with 19 wins. So yes, 3-7.

Doesn't matter as we're rolling in the first half tonight. Let's keep it up for another 15 or so minutes, make that mark 4-7 and get our starters some rest for Kron tomorrow night.

Ohio can't stop anything on defense so JC waits until Western scores 7 straight and the sees the Cats look bad on 2 straight offensive possessions before using a TO.

Worst coach I've ever seen when it comes to managing his TOs.

Refs not letting the Cats play defense anymore by calling all these weak touch fouls.

After my earlier post when OHIO had only a ridiculous 6 points in the 2nd half, OUr team proceeded to score 27 more points and win. Not so ridiculous! Way to go Bobcats! Now just play a full 40 minutes tomorrow night and get back in the Dance!

Yeah, unlike football coaches, impeccable timeout-taking timing is about #1,009 on the list of important attributes of a basketball coach.

We played out of our minds in the 1st half. Then, we took our foot off the accelerator to start the 2nd half. Western finally got Paul going after sitting most of the 1st and that got em back in it. You had to know they were going to make a run at some point and they did. 22-7 run before DJ's triple to stop the bleeding...eesh.

DJ hit that big 3 and then some big BIG time minutes/play from Mr. Heart Walt Offutt allowed us to get back on track. Nick's 3 and Jon's monster dunk sealed it late. Excellent job of keeping our poise and ultimately exerting our will.

Man, Walt had 14 points and 11 boards. Huge. DJ will get all the pub (21 points and 10 dimes) but Walt came through in the crunch. We also limited Whittington to 6 points. Constant and hard doubles with very active hands kept him frustrated almost the entire night.

We shoot 7-9 from 3 in the first half and 11-21 for the game combined with 13-16 from the free throw line and that's going to be a win most nights. Combine that with our D on Whittington and then Paul's lack of minutes due to foul trouble in the 1st half and that spells double digit win for the Bobcats.

Now let's go get Akron tomorrow night! I'm still trying to figure out a way to get up to Cleveland....

WMU played with the kind of intensity to start the second half that I thought they would bring from the start.  They held the lead for a total of 14 seconds and when DJ broke the 8-8 tie with a 3, they just withered for the next 8 minutes.  Gotta give them credit for staging the comeback.  If they hadn't played last night, it might've been a different story.  Also need to credit our guys for staying focused and calm.  The 3s by DJ, Walt and Nick were real daggers.  I'm still supportive of Ivo, but I'd like to see him take it to the rim.  I think opponents can see that he's just looking to pass when he gets into the lane and don't need to worry about him going to the hoop.  He did well on D tonight; was in their face most of the game.  But we need him to be a force on offense tomorrow night.

BEAT AKRON!!!!
