Anyone have a preference between these two teams? I hate the idea of playing a game with EMU, as their games can be really boring. But they may be preferable, since if they beat WMU, they will be playing their 4th game in 5 days.

I just did some very quick research. Unless I missed a game, it appears EMU does not have a history of playing well in front of a lot of people.

Eastern Michigan's last win in front of more than 5,000 people came on February 14th, 2004 when they traveled to Toledo and beat the Rockets 84-79 5,816 fans.  I could not find the last time EMU won a game in front of a crowd as large as Ohio averaged this year.
EMU is 0-5 against crowds of >5,000 this season,

That said, I hope EMU upsets WMU tonight.  I do not think they will handle playing in front of such a large Ohio crowd in the Q on Friday well.

I'd much rather have EMU.

They'd be really fatigued come tomorrow and definitely don't have much depth. Can't score either and Ohio can handle their zone fine.

Someone convince me to be afraid of Western.

I agree, fatigue will be a big factor if they get past Western.

EMU plays so slow they should be well rested if Ohio plays them tomorrow!

But seriously, if Ohio does play them tomorrow, EMU's zone will give Ohio fits if Ohio shoots as poorly as they did for the first 30 minutes against Miami last Saturday.

looks ;like western solved the puzzle. Unfortunately we do not have a 4 that will stay at the FT line and dump down to a 5.

Both teams currently in a three ball fest. Went from 11-10 with a bit over 10 minutes left in the 1st half to 31 28 on a ton of threes going in both ways.

Whittington,. in the games I have watched has been a terror in the mid range and perimeter. Tonite he is a beast at the rim. Go figure

I have yet to see Sims hit a three.

So it looks like it will be WMU. Whittington and Paul seem to be their best players but their backcourt sucks. Im not worried

We can beat WMU. We should beat WMU.

That being said I'm very afraid of Whittington and Paul inside. They are going to own us around the hoop and on the boards.  Not to mention we barely squeaked out a win by 2 up at Kalamazoo but they only shot 15-53 from the field and we held them to SIX field goals in the first half. Plus, Paul was still finding his way at that point. No way do they shoot/play that bad tomorrow.

Me thinks they're going to be a much better ball club than the one we faced in January. Going to be a struggle.

Western has actually played worse as the season came to a close. Their defense started springing leaks and offense wasn't working as well. Won't be a walk, but we should win.

I'm with you-Western looked much improved last night, although it was EMU they were facing.  This game will be a war.  That being said, Ohio fans should own the arena for the 9:00 game-watching the WMU-EMU game last night, there was no one in attendance, so I can't imagine WMU will have a lot of fans at the game tonight.

All 4 teams in the semis are now 20 win teams, so no team should be overlooked.  GO BOBCATS!!!!

Anyone have two extras for tonight in the Ohio section?

There was some miscommunication with the AD when ordering. Argh.

Shoot me a PM and I can give you my email.

Thanks in advance.

As someone said, Western has won 20 games which means that they can win ball games. Just how many teams have we beat that had even a winning record? Not so many. I don't think we are playing very consistent ball right now, so I have no faith that we can win a games against anyone who can score, and it will be tough to win both.Hate to be a Debbie downer, but just expressing my concern.

I don't think anyone believes that Ohio needs anything less than two A games. Judging from WMU's performance last night, Ohio should be able to get dribble penetration. Which, in my opinion, has been lacking down the stretch. But if Ohio gets to Saturday night, they'll need Walt hitting his layups and Nick hitting his threes. And even then it probably goes down to the last shot.

When was the last time all four teams in the semis had 20+ wins?

Our guys always seem to bring it up a notch in March.  My concern is the layoff.  We're only 2-3 this season with 6 or more days between games (Ws vs UNC-Wilmington & Terd; Ls vs Winthrop, Okla & Akron).
